My Husband's Being...

An A$$!

Went to bed late with him, and then he wanted to talk, so needless to say, it was extremely late before I got to go to sleep. This morning, I asked him to get up with the kids and make them breakfast. I rarely do that. But all he did was kept saying, in a minute, in a minute. 30 minutes later I got up. It wasn't restful or relaxing listening to E squeal and scream and C tell him to be quiet.

Now DH got up, after I was done, and he's out sulking in the garage! I'm really upset!

Is one morning a week sleeping in while I still can too much to ask? I've got a numbered amount of weeks left before I'm going to be up all night every day. And because he works nights all week, he almost never sees the kids! He gets home at 6am, sleeps until 1:30 in the afternoon, gets up and goes to class until 5 or 7 pm, (different classes Mon & wed, Tues& Thurs), then comes home, eats dinner, and goes back to bed until time to leave for work at 9pm. On Friday and Saturday he'll sleep all day, well into the afternoon. Yesterday, it was 4pm before he got up! It's all me, every day, all day, all night and I'm EXHAUSTED!

  • Man, all I can say is that someday you won't be pregnant, your kids will be more independent, and it will be better.  Just this morning I was thinking that the worst thing about being a mom is not being able to ever sleep in.  Sunday is the only day one of us doesn't have to be up early, and DH always sleeps in.  I need a turn!

I'm sorry hon :(  Our rule is that he gets to sleep in on Saturdays and I get to sleep in on Sundays, but IDK if that would work for you guys given his work schedule.  Men are so pouty and whiny, though, I swear it's like having an extra kid.
Our rule is that I get to sleep in on Saturdays and Sundays. Mommy needs more sleep than Daddy does. This is a fact. I can go hard all afternoon, but mama has got to be in bed until at least 10 AM on the weekends...

  • Yuck. I would be completely pissed too. I hate it when men rely on our motherly instinct to kick in, because they know it will take over. So they just hang in their long enough to make us get up. My H is in the completely opposite side of things for once. This weekend he took me out of town (sent DS off to Glamma's for TWO nights) and we did some shopping, slept in, had dinner, did a couples massage... did the deed and got to relax. It was so nice. So he's got points this weekend. Hope they last haha.

  • @Rosebean‌ I'm truly jealous. :P Yay for Mr. Rosebean! Mr. TamaraR4 needs some lessons. He just doesn't get how hard pregnancy is because last time, we obviously didn't have a toddler, and C was in school all day, so I slept on the couch a TON. Plus, last time he worked days and was home more to help out.

So now we have more kids and he is gone twice as long. Poop on him.

    ***STUCK IN THE BOX***
My DH is reduced to caveman capabilities when sleepy so in all honesty, I would much rather deal with my own sleep deprivation than his.  1,000 times over.
I totally get that. DH is a weirdo when it comes to sleep. Like, he literally can get 6-7 hours a night and be happy as a clam the next day. It's bizarre.
