Upcoming appointments, milestones, or updates? (Ticker change?)
QOTWknd/GTKY: Let's play Never Have I Ever.... list a some things that you have never done, feel free to elaborate where necessary:) Example: Never have I ever been on a cruise. - and now with all the problems on the cruise ships I'll probably never feel comfortable going on one.
Open Topic: What's on your mind?
Re: *** Weekend Bedrest Check-in ***
@amwenz, thanks for joining us!! t&p that your cervical length check goes well on Thursday and that you find a way to ease your anxiety... it's definitely not an easy thing to do, but just hang in there, it's all worth it in the end.
My in laws stopped by for a little while yesterday and they brought me some brownies with cream cheese frosting... DELICIOUS!!
So, yesterday dh decided he was going to do a deep/detailed cleaning and because I felt pretty good I thought I'd be able to help. I folded and put away the laundry, organized our bookshelves, did a little bit of sweeping, organized our bills/paperwork then I started getting some pretty painful contractions about every 30mins... whomp whomp back to bed for me:( the contractions eventually spread out then went away completely and it felt good to actually be able to do something.
Never have I ever...
*Seen any of the Twilight movies or read any of the books - at first I hadn't seen them because I just didn't have time, but now I won't do it because I feel like I'm one of the few people left who hasn't seen them so I'm not giving in lol.
*Been this miserable and so thankful and excited at the same time. - third tri is a B!! But I'd do this forever just to be able to hold my baby girl.
*travelled by train, or subway, or bus. Basically I've never used a public transit system - that's what you get for living in a small town... but it's definitely something I'd like to try at least once just to experience it.
*ridden a roller coaster - I get motion sickness so quickly it's not even funny, the kiddie rides make me nauseous sometimes so I've never pushed my luck with the bigger rides.
@amwenz everything crossed for good news at your next appt! Weeks 20-23 induced a lot of anxiety/panic in me as well. Try to keep yourself busy. If you're looking for a good book that also has some good strategies for dealing with anxiety and what ifs I highly recommend Mindful Birthing, there's also a CD with guided meditation. The idea is staying calm and in the moment no matter what happens. It certainly can help with coping with labor/delivery but isn't a med free plan exclusively.
@Fuccimama I've definitely had periods of increased thirst and feeling hot. Hoping they are just hormonal changes and you get some relief soon!
34 weeks tomorrow and my third to last dose of Makena (17 hydroxyprogesterone). I won't miss jabbing my thigh with a big needle once a week! I have a doc appt and NST on Tuesday.
NHIE done drugs (not even pot- I'm shocked I haven't been kicked out of California!), played golf (just don't understand the appeal- DH would love to win me over!), had a term pregnancy (hoping to change that this time around!)
QOTD: I'm so mentally exhausted from worrying about my contractions. I'm excited to be 34 weeks, because my hospital will no longer give steroids, so now I don't feel like I need to catch early PTL so they can stall and get steroids in prior to delivery. I'm actually kinda hoping to end up in labor and show up in L&D like 5-6cm or more regardless of when it happens. This also means if I go into labor now I can actually have a more "normal" labor I hope to walk, sit on the ball, etc and see how far I can get- being stuck in bed on magenisum and continuous monitors with DS was AWFUL. When you're high risk, it's the little victories!!!
