I had an emergency cerclage placed at 24 weeks due to an incompetent cervix. I was placed on strict bedrest until delivery. 5 weeks were hospital bedrest. I was curious to moms who have done the whole getting a cerclage in earlier what your experiences were? Were you able to go back to work and avoid bedrest?
Re: Cerclage
I had an emergency cerclage placed with DD1 which held for 2 weeks of hospital bedrest. With this pregnancy, I had a preventative cerclage placed at 14w. I was on modified bed rest and then was put on stricter bedrest when my cervix started to shorten, which was around 24 weeks or so. I was able to work from home, and went in to work a couple times for meetings (I have a desk job so nothing physically strenuous). I am now 36w2d and just got my cerclage out at 36w, and my doctor has pretty much lifted any kind of bed rest restrictions at this point.
They weren't planning on putting me on bed rest unless my cervix shortened, which it did. So it may just depend on how things go for you.
