Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

This is probably going to sound dumb, but here goes...

Does teething cause toddlers to wake up earlier? DD has always had an easy time with teething until the last week or so. She has four teeth coming in at once (two of them molars). Her pediatrician warned us about how bad molars can hurt. She's just not napping or sleeping at night like she use to and she's waking up about an hour earlier. She is so tired. I don't think it's the time change, because she did fine for days after that happened. Teething is the only thing I can come up with that may be causing it. I guess I'm kind of hoping it's teething and not something else.

  • DD always sleeps worse when she is cutting teeth. She wakes up in the middle of the night, wakes up early, doesn't nap as well, etc. When she is cutting teeth, I usually give ibuprofen before bed, and it seems to help. Otherwise, she wakes up screaming throughout the night.

Same happens with my LO.  Usualy after a couple nights, I see a tooth pop and we are good until the next tooth decides to show up.
