Diarrhea, fussy, eating changes HELP!

DS is 15 weeks old. I went back to work 4 weeks ago and we established a good routine. I would nurse him 4 times a day and he would bottle feed with the MIL about 4 times a day. I'm a teacher and this week was spring break.
This week he has really changed. He's been extremely fussy, has diarrhea, and will only eat an average of 4 to 6 minutes at a time. He will go sometimes an hour and 45 minutes and up to 2 hours and 45 minutes between feedings. His sleep cycles have been short too. Last night we were up every 2.5 hours.
I took him to the pedi and she said he wasn't sick. He could have possibly had a stomach bug but it should be out of his system by now.
We don't have the seedy diapers anymore. It's just mostly yellow, sometimes green goo. He still has plenty wet diapers.

2 questions. Is this going to hurt my supply? And has anyone experienced anything like this?

  • It sounds very similar to what is happening. I asked my pedi if it could be teething and she said she would expect teething fussiness to be an all day affair. His fussiness is off and on. Sometimes during the day, sometimes at night. Was your DD fussy all day long?

  • Is LO old enough for Tylenol? If so, you could try that and see if that helps.

  • This is what happened with my first around 2 months old. We thought it was a bug, but it went on for a week and he would just scream and cry all the time. I figured out it was a milk protein allergy. Once I eliminated dairy it started getting better and then he was totally back to normal in two weeks. It almost sounds like it could be an allergy issue. I would maybe look into doing an elimination diet.

I forgot to include that in my post. I've been off dairy and soy for about 6 weeks now. I did have soybean oil in a Chipotle burrito this week so maybe he's reacting to that. Hmmm...

Our LO is teething and it is not an all day affair... Sometimes (usually later in the day) it will bother him MUCH more than other times.  He is happy as can be in the mornings but once we get around 4:30 or so the drueling picks up a ton and he starts chewing and fussing much more... I know every baby is different but I don't think I would count on this.

4MW is a b***h especially when combined with teething.  Hang in there ladies :) there is an end even tho it feels like there isn't.  We went thru this for a lil over a month and I just thought I would never sleep again
