We were out at dinner this weekend and I beat DD1 in a series of rounds of tic-tac-toe. She brought up one of the "unthinkables" in SuperFlex and the desire to want to always win and how she was feeling that way, and so we worked through the moment instead of her getting upset or frustrated. It took me a minute to realize what she was talking about, but I was really impressed with her and the program -- she's clearly getting it!
So -- my DH loves to play around with words to make jokes, to change something just enough to be funny or pretend he misunderstands. Like, he called Harry Potter, Larry Pothead (not around the kids, lol) or Game of Thrones, Shame of Groans. Etc., etc.
This morning DD1 had a cough when we were getting ready and wanted to know if she was sick enough to stay home. I told her she need to have a cough and a fever, and she responds, "Coffee and a booger??", totally pulling the same kind of jokey-turn-around that her dad does. And it was actually funny! Normally when she tries for a joke of her own making, it goes awry in one manner or another, but she legit made me laugh and she was clearly proud of herself for nailing it.
Dd has her first "friend"! Not surprised at all--it's a boy. They sit together on the bus. She used to sleep the whole ride home but now she's so excited to see her buddy she sits excitedly awake he whole time. Haha. When she sees him she hugs him and puts her head on his shoulder. Surprisingly for a three year old he's pretty accepting of the fact when she talks you can't make out 90% of what she says. Lol. He's nt though so maybe even at three they have some sense/acceptance of kids that are different--at least the ones that serve as peer models at a special needs school do.
Dd has also really turned a corner at school too. She's been really quiet outside of greetings and making animal sounds but she's finally starting to really talk there. I get to chat directly with her speech therapist on Wednesdays which is awesome and I got the report she's making great progress. Apparently she was being quite the attention whore yesterday (which is so dd at home, lol) and making everyone laugh by being silly. She's such a ham.
I added a picture of DD3
We had DD1's second CST meeting this week, and the interventions seem to be working! We're keeping everything in place and will revisit again early next year.

you need to take this picture down STAT!!! It makes me want another precious little newborn squish....She is precious, congratulations!
To my boys: I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
DS2 has been singing songs at all school -- all by himself!
I'm feeling grumpy with DS1 today, so I'm having trouble thinking of a brag for him ... He is being cuddly with his visiting grandmother, so I guess that's something.

@ToastieSimons - Thank you! If I had met DH when we were younger, we'd probably have 6 kids Snuggly newborns are like a drug.
I will DD the pic later, but here is DS with one of his new teachers. Today he and I went to register him for school. Its in a public elementary school, so we had to do what most parents have to do for Kindy. Thought I had three more years till that, lol.
Not really a brag, per se, but more of a relief that both he and I liked the class.
I am excited that DS has started letting me kiss him on the cheek (as long as I remember to ask first); before he would insist that people can only kiss him "on the hair"; sensory thing.
