The waiting begins...

We did ICI for the first time on the 12th and 13th. How do you get thru the next 2 weeks waiting to test? I'm going nuts now and its been barely 18 hrs. K says she will wait a month to test but I know she will go crazy before then. Anyone have some helpful hints? suggestions?

Re: The waiting begins...

  • Staying busy may help pass the time, but for me, it is always in the back of my mind. I don't really have anything that helps me stay sane. During my most recent TWW I found it helpful to just focus on one day at a time and go about my normal day to day stuff.

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

The only thing that helps me stay sane is peeing on sticks! Haha, I know it sounds wasteful, but starting around day 7 I just pee on one a day. I don't stress about it during the day if I just get it over with first thing in the morning.. :)

    Good Luck!!
  • I'm with rkbo. I did the same thing. It made me less anxious for some reason. No tips to share really, try to stay busy and not obsess about everything imagined or real that is going on ;)

  • Try, try, try to not pay any attention to "symptoms". She'll be so hyper aware of her body, that she'll notice things that she's never noticed before but don't mean anything. I recommend puzzles and podcasts. Things that take up enough of your brain that you won't start thinking about it.

  • We are looking at buying a house and just finished looking at a fixer-upper so I'll be spending my weekend thinking about that how much is going to cost to fix it up which is pretty much what I do all the time.

She's already started like feeling these things. Her cramping is more intense than it's been in the past. She likes to look things up whenever something doesn't seem right so it's going to be a fun two weeks.
