Mild complaint about pregnant friend

So I just found out one of hubby's friend's wife is pregnant. We are very happy for them, and I wrote to the wife suggesting that we do a picnic to get together/celebrate in mid April. She wrote back saying, mid April is still too cold for picnic and that she doesn't want her body to be cold. REALLY? this is the lady who gave me lots of crap for being careful when I was pregnant with my daughter. She was always telling me that it's totally fine to go out and party even when one is pregnant, that one should go out as much as possible before the baby arrives, and that some of her friends drink alcohol too and it's called "French-style pregnancy" etc. Now that she is pregnant, she doesn't even want to have a picnic in mid April? What happened to "French-style pregnancy"? Admittedly it's not super warm, but people in my area have picnics all the time during that time of the year, which is why I suggested.

Okay, maybe I'm overreacting a little coz yes, I am jealous that she is pregnant!

Does she know you have been trying & are having a hard time getting pregnant? Maybe she feels weird, or guilty, or just awkward & saying it's "too cold" is her way of dodging it? Like she may feel like she's rubbing it in your face by talking about it? If that makes sense? Regardless, her excuse is ridiculous. So, no, you're not overreacting. I'm to the point I hate all pregnant people. Or people with babies. There was a lady in my office reception area who looked like she was 50, talking about her child that was with her, who couldn't have been more than 6 months old. I went into my office and wanted to scream & impale myself on my stapler.

I should be even more emotionally awesome once I start medicated cycles.

It's always the ones who gave you the hardest time when pregnant that act like complete psychos when they get ku. I have a friend who would have given me crap for even half the shit she does with her lo.

LOL @ "emotionally awesome". No she does not know we are TTC. We didn't say anything to them. She is just trying to be really carefully I think.

She does not deserve an effing picnic! I totally understand drinking before you know you're pregnant but to drink AFTER? Wtf?

On April 25th dammit, because "It's not to hot, and it's not too cold- all you need is a light jacket!" Boom best date ever!

And today I saw a post on this Facebook mommy group I'm in by a mom freaking out because she ate half a turkey sandwich. Some pregnant ladies just love the drama. Super lame.

Reminds me thought, when my sister was pregnant...she made me prep the turkey for Thanksgiving because she didn't want to touch it for risk of salmonella...really?!? Like she couldn't just wash her hands after.

Haha! Can't go w/o wieners! And yeah, the freak out was coldcut related. But I heard a dr say that there are women in third world countries eating out of trash cans and delivering perfectly healthy babies. If you want to eat meat that was prepared in a sanitary kitchen and sliced by a man wearing white gloves, then by all means, go for it.

Second of all- I ate everything in site pregnant with my little boy. I confessed to my doctor that I ate shrimp. And he said unless I ate a pound a day it wasn't going to do anything.

Funny thing is- I'm not big on seafood but I ate the piss out of it KU.

Oh and then I was probably late 20-ish weeks and I went to a basketball game. I was paranoid about the noise level ??!!

I forgot the lunch meat thing. I could live off a ham sandwich so I know I ate the crap out of those...

Wow. Lunch meat. Who knew. Obviously I didn't.....

The fish thing is the mercury levels. However, it's in higher quantities in things like salmon, king (or tile?) fish.... I think is evident in all sea creatures, but those & a couple more have higher quantities.... I am an avid sushi & fish eater, so I knew this going into it. Thankfully, it didn't kill me cause I couldn't even get near fish while prego. Unless it was a filet o fish from McDonalds. Don't judge!!

I think things change over the years. I had my DS almost 18 years ago and there was never any talk about lunch meat. The only thing I remember was not cleaning cat liter boxes. I

Yeah it's the mercury level in certain seafood...like tuna. However, it is also recommended that you eat seafood once a week while pregnant.
