Expanding on DIY baby food

So with my son I had the baby breeza was all game to make his good from scratch. However, no matter what I made he was not having it. I tucked it away for a couple of weeks assuming maybe he wasn't ready....still not having it. I tried everything in the book to get him to eat it except adding (Karo syrup just didn't see a point). Then I tried plum and earths best and he went to town!! So did anyone else have this issue or was my child just a weirdo? I plan on trying again with this lo first using my blender at home before I get anything specific again.

  • 3 words: Baby Led Weaning. that's what we did with DD and she loves to eat. It's not for everyone but definitely look into it. I have no experience with baby purees so no answer to your original question.

We did homemade purees and DD just didn't want to eat at first. She did eventually come around to it (I just kept doing homemade stuff). Maybe your LO just wasn't ready when you were doing your own purees and he was when you did bought ones?? Coincidence or not, I'd probably try again if you want to.

  • I usually tried it from the store first to see if he liked something before making a huge batch. He didn't seem to care either way, except for peas. He would eat the pea purees from the store but not the ones I made.

  • I tried every type of texture, for example, I'd purée apples he wouldn't eat them. Buy puréed apples and he ate them up. Baby lead weaning wasn't an option with my son at the time he was 6 months and having issues with weight gain.
