If you own a double stroller...

What do you have and do you like it?

DH decided last night that as long as he doesn't have to talk, look, or think about a double I can buy whatever I want! So tell me what you love or (hate) about your double.

  • Well we don't own it yet (we just ordered it a few days ago) but we went with the BOB  revolution SE duallie. We went back and forth between that and the Baby Jogger City Mini double. We have friends that have each of these, and after trying them both out, the BOB won us over. I plan on using it for jogging, and the BOB seemed to handle a little better. Plus, we liked that we could 'off road' with it, since it has real tires. I guess I would consider that a downside, though, too, maybe? You could pop a tire and have to get it replaced.

I really liked them both, and each of my friends preferred the one they owned over the other's (they're sisters). The City Mini is a little bit cheaper, I think, but with the infant carseat attachment and such I think they end up being about the same.
  • We also have the Bob Revolution Dualie SE. I love it. My 4-year-old still fits in it. It's such a smooth ride. The basket underneath is a decent size. I use it for running and walking. If I were only whooping around town, I would go with something smaller, like the City Mini.

We have the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight.  It's a sit and stand, but because Sophia was so young when Julia was born, I got the option with the second seat.  The things I like about it is that it's pretty light for a double (a little over 20 lbs,) it fits through doorways because it's front/back, it maneuvers well, I can use a carseat with it for an infant, and I think it will grow with my kids.  We have the second seat for as long as Sophia needs it, but once she feels too big for the stroller, she has the option of sitting on the ledge, or standing.  That way, if there's more space between Julia and a third child, Julia could use the stroller for the sit n stand too.

ETA: Price was also a concern for us- we got it at buybuybaby for 240 because of the 20% off 300  Link (and that price includes the second seat, carseat adapter, and handlebar organizer.

ETA: What I don't like is that the storage basket underneath is pretty much useless if you have both kids in the stroller, and I wouldn't use it for running.

We just bought the baby jogger city select. I haven't used it yet but I think I will like it. I like that there are so many seating configurations. And I like that both seats are full seats and not a rumble seat. I wanted a front to back stroller because a lot of indoor places we go are tight.

We already have a two seater bike trailer that can be converted to a jogging stroller so I will use that for running. I may get a lightweight double umbrella stroller down the line for quick trips and travel, but I will do that once we need it.

Eta: I wish someone would invent a stroller similar to the city select but one where you could configure the seats front to back or side by side. That would be awesome!

  • We have the Graco DuoGlider.  I preferred that profile vs. the side-by-side because we usually use it in stores and I feel like I can push it around better through aisles, etc.  It's pretty light for a double (about 20 lbs.) and it's easy to open and close.  I can fit it in the back of my Civic. It fits a toddler and a carseat but we have no problem putting two toddlers in it now.  It also has a nice basket at the bottom for storage.  I don't really have any complaints about it.
  • We have the BJ City Select double & love it.

We have 2 seats, a car seat adapter, snack tray, parent console & glider board.

I have two but use my single way way more.

I have a small umbrella style, the Maclaren Twin Techno. It reclines flat and folds up super small. It is comfortable for the kids and easy to get around in tighter spaces. Great for traveling or museums.

I also have a double jogger, Schwinn something. It is huge and heavy for getting in and out of the car. But it is my go to for walks to the park. James likes to ride his bike to the park but is usually too tired and wants to ride on the way home. I can fit his bike (hanging out the sides) in the basket. Also great for when we do fairs and other activities that are not paved.

  • We already own the Brtiax B-Ready so I bought the second seat for it and will use that as long as 2.0 is in a infant seat. We will also be getting a BOB Duallie (after my completion coupon comes) because we take our single to the beach almost every weekend. I don't think I could live without it.
At some point we will likely do a Mclaren twin because we love our Maclaren single.

  • We have a double City Mini GT, and I love it.  The only bad thing about it is that it's hard to get to the basket underneath.

    All of the above!

I did a sit and stand because DS1 was almost 3 by the time DS2 was born.  I don't know that he would have done well with it at closer to 2.  For a sit and stand though, I love it.  When the older one is sitting, it still has a belt which is nice.

This is what we have too and I really love it as well. I don't jog but we used it for walks almost daily last summer. But I can also take it shopping because it fits through doorways and isnt too bulky. Steer super easily and it turns on a dime. Actually, I liked it so much that it put my single stroller to shame (Chicco liteway). I ended up buying a slightly-used City Mini from my friend when she upgraded to a single GT.

  • We have the baby jogger city mini double and love it. We wanted a side by side (not a fan of tandems) and it has been great for us for the past 4 years.

  • Babytrend double jogger. I love our navigator, but the expedition is awesome too.
It fits through door ways and most cash registers, it's comfy for myself and the kids and it's not too expensive.

I love it and we use it daily, even in high-ish snow it's awesome.

Can you guys get Mountain Buggy's over there? We haven't got our double yet, but we are looking at the Mountain Buggy +One. I have a couple of friends with it, and they love it. We have the single Swift currently, and holy shit, it's so nice to use.

We can, I've actually been looking at that one quite a bit. It's just harder to see them in person here.

  • We also have the Graco. It is so easy to open and close and no too heavy. I loved it when they were small (She was 16.5 months old when DS was born)  But now DD has pretty much outgrown it (at 3) but she is very tall for her age. It is really hard to push with both of them in it anymore..but at 3 a stroller isn't really a huge necessity for her.

  • I have a Jeep front/back double stroller that I got from Overstock.com and it's okay for strolling down to the bus stop but I hate taking it anywhere else. It's heavy to lift into the back of the SUV and turning is difficult like PP mentioned.  If I had to use one more regularly or for anything other than going to and from the bus stop I would spend more and something that was easier to maneuver.
