Just curious where you found nursing bras. I didn't see anything at motherhood and target didn't have much. Where else? Does babies r us sell them? Thanks!
I see them everywhere, even Wal-mart, but my boobs are getting so big (this is not a humble brag) they never have my size, I may have to special order from Omar the Tentmaker.
As much as I didn't necessarily want to, I got mine at Walmart. I was looking everywhere and couldn't find any that I could try on - and then BAM, Walmart had them - The brand is Loving Moments by Leading Lady. They're pretty comfortable too!

I got one at target, but its not super comfortable. I got fitted by a lactation consultant for one also, and I love it! It's called the original nursing bra by bravado and I hardly notice I'm wearing it. They said it also makes a good sleep bra. All the bras I tried on by that brand were very comfy.

Who comes up with the brand names for these things? That's the funniest name ever : )
Lol, I know right? Talk about a mouthful!

I got nursing sleep bras from target/Walmart, and one real nursing bra from our hospital- they have a shop where they'll size you for one and everything! Now that I have a general idea of my size I'm going to order some online.
Haven't done this yet (this weekend, hopefully) but my instructor at my BF class recommended we go to a specialty boutique in the area and invest in a few good ones/get measured, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm guessing most places will have some kind of specialty "mom" boutique along these lines..then once you get measured and know of good brands for you, you could always order online.
She said she recommends investing in a few good ones rather than a bunch of cheapies. Which I guess is generally true of bras, though I definitely own a few cheapies (and will probably get some cheap sleeping ones from Motherhood or Target, etc.).
Funny, this is the same advice I usually give/get for running shoes...boobs and feet, gotta take care of them! High-use appendages. Haha.

There was a sale on Zulily a while back for a brand called "Hotmilk" and all the models were posed boudoir-style. As much as I appreciate boobs and good bras, I had to laugh at that one.
Don't buy too many before your milk comes in. Your boobs will suprise you with their growth! I took a couple of sleeping bras to hospital the first time around and that worked well.
I second the BF store at the hospital. I'm lucky to have a retail store that specializes in BF stuff, cloth diapers, etc and they will measure me there. Check to see if you have one in your area!
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!
I bought mine at the lactation store in our hospital. They measured me and gave recommendations. I do know that our Motherhood Maternity sells them, though.

Anyone have advice for plus size nursing bras? I was a 38 DD before getting pregnant I was a 40F when I bought a new bra in the second trimester, don't even want to know what I am now!
I am a 42DD now (according to Destination Maternity) and that's the problem--they only had one style in a 42 and it has underwire! We did have a local store but they closed. I have to find out if there are others.

Lane Bryant, my usual go to bra shop, doesn't sell nursing ones anymore...grr. I would hate to have to buy something online without being able try it on!

I feel the same way! I don't mind buying online if I can return to a store but don't want to have to ship anything back! So annoying!
Target (Gilligan O'Malley) has some that are okay for sleep and/or if you're not that big. I'm like a 38/40D when nursing and the XXL barely fits me around the band. Bravado is usually nice. I definitely recommend seeing if there's a shop located at or affiliated with the LCs at your hospital. With DD1, they even came to my room and measured me and I was able to get some then and there, which was awesome. Also, with DD2 (last year), I ordered online from Destination Maternity. FWIW I got like 5 and I wouldn't recommend any of them. Very cheaply made and did not hold up well at all.
Love the dynabelly nursing tanks (they have a tight fit, which I thought I would hate but ended up loving after wearing for a day) and the dynabelly wireless nursing/sleeping bra. I bought one Target (Gilligan O'Malley) and think it's fine too. I also bought two Egg nursing bras and hate them. By far I prefer the dynabelly options. Not glamorous, but very comfy.

I would also love suggestions! I was measured just a little bit pre-pregnancy, and measured 42F. I don't think I have grown a lot through pregnancy, but it is hard to tell. I've been making do with what I have for now. I have a couple nursing tanks that I got second hand-that and a decent sport bra (non-nursing) are my plans for now. After my milk comes in, I'll get re-measured and end up buying some online. Hopefully I can find some reasonably priced-most I've seen so far are in the $65+ apiece range!

I got mine at Motherhood last week. Girl said they were new to the store. They look like a sports bra but with hooks in the back like regular bras. I really like them. They were buy three get one free and I had store credit, so it worked.

@mrsoliver916 wait until you have the baby, then get sized. See if your hospital has a shop in their women's center where they can size you. Then try looking online, I would try motherhood maternity and other maternity stores first, and then shop online. My cousin has an odd size(she's 18 and not pregnant, but a 32J) and gets a lot from Linda the bra lady- google it, I think it's lindasonline.com. I was a similar size to you prepregnancy, and the fitting lady didn't have a problem finding one at the hospital shop in my size. They may be expensive, but they'll probably have your size!
ETA tagging @innanni as well. Honestly if cost is an issue I would get a bunch of cheap "sleep nursing bras" and 1-2 nice ones. I was a 36DD prepregnancy and targets Gillian omalley XXL fits me well, even with my engorged boobs. Remember, your band size will go down postpartum (well, back to normal) because you won't be so squished in your abdomen.
I have had to go to a specialty shop for my bras for years now...so I knew I'd have to for nursing bras as well. I bought two a couple of months ago when all my pre-pregnancy stopped fitting, and they are a 36H. I'm expecting to have to go back in again after my milk comes in for a couple more in an even bigger size...I don't have boobs, I have milk jugs!
I blame my dad - all of the women in his family have giant boobs (as opposed to my mom, who has always been small). I haven't been small, since I got my curves in at age 11/12. LOL
I wore the Bravado sleeping bra out with my first. It was so comfortable! I would hold off like PP mentioned getting fitted till a couple weeks out because most likely you boobs will become so large you won't recognize yourself. (And all this after they've already grown, right?) anyway, I found 3 weeks was the perfect time to go get fitted. Nursing was fairly established & my breasts weren't so engorged. I bought one really nice bra then searched online for a couple more. Up till then I loved my glamourmom nursing tanks & like I said the sleeping bra.
Again, not sure why this is coming up again, but I wanted to say, I got measured at Lane Bryant the other day, and took my chances stopping in a local pharmacy. I heard they had 'some' BF supplies-nursing bras, pump parts, etc. Being a 42F, I wasn't very hopeful in finding anything in my size. Was I ever wrong! They had several different styles (mostly Bravado brand) and I actually found a couple that fit!
