Damien David Fung was born March 9 at 4:50am weighing 8.1 :) felt cramps and was leaking fluid for the last couple of days, finally called when the pressure was to much. Turns out my water broke on Wednesday the 5th but no contractions and it was only a leak. When I arrived in labour and delivery, they explained that there was still a pocket of amniotic fluid left, hence why I simply had a small leak. Also that since my water broke 4 days earlier, my baby was at risk of infections so I was quickly put on pitocin after breaking the pocket of fluid. Labour went by pretty fast, got in at 7:30pm, epidural around 1am and not even 30mins in, my body was showing signs of pushing but the nurse kept reminding me I wasn't dilating enough to push him out lol easier said then done. Baby stayed in the NICU for 24 hours and also showed signs of jaundice. Everything's all good now, he still has jaundice but it was in the lower level so we could leave on the 4th day. Now we're both home and couldn't ask for a better baby <3 trying my best to breastfeed, but having a hard time especially with my nipples cracking and bruised (baby is latching on great and the breastfeeding wasn't hurting at the time. Nurses and lactation cons. said everything was perfect so I'm lost :/ any advice is welcome :) ) so I've been pumping away and some formula added.
