Our daycare does a bunch of special activities in the summer including water play, special visitors, etc. The 4yr old group also does swim lessons. Dd will turn 4 in August and I know that they move up in June. Most of her friends will be moving up. Do you think I should try to get her moved up early (June instead of Sept) so that she can participate in swim and stay with her core group of friends?
UPDATE:
I talked to the director and unfortunately they can't move her up. Their licensing requires children to be 4yrs old for swim and to ride the bus on field trips. At least now I know the reason behind it. She'll still have a great summer.
Re: Summer "camp" at daycare - Updated
Are you sure they are not planning to move her? My daughter is in the same age range and all the kids who will be prek-4 in September move into the new room in June as they like to do moves only twice a year for those that are not impacted by strict ratios (aka kids under 2 have to be in 3 to 1 and under 3 is 6 to 1.)
