This will be the last check in I run, I'm being induced on Tuesday and likely won't even know what day it is after that :)   Congrats to all the GD ladies (and everyone, but you GD ladies have a special place in my heart since I know how bad it sucks) who have outside babies, and for all the ladies with a few weeks yet to go, hang in there, we're almost done!

Re: GD check in

  • How far along are you?  39 weeks

When you were diagnosed?  14 weeks

Are you on insulin?  2X a day and they up it at each appt

How did this past week go for you?  Eh.  Some good readings, but then I'll eat something that I know should work and my reading is way higher.  It's very frustrating.  LO is estimated to be 8-6 already and I still had a week to go at that estimate, so with every high reading I worry I'm hurting her and adding to her weight.

Anything you’re struggling with and need help with?  Just worried about LO, hoping she doesn't get too much bigger.

If you could have any food, regardless of carb count, what would it be?  Chocolate.  All the chocolate in the world...and a huge glass of milk to go with.

Any recipe/favorite snack/favorite meal idea to share?  Nope

QOTW: GD sucks, any good news to share?  Today is my last day of work!!!  So happy to almost be out of here.

  • Thanks for running these and good luck next week.

How far along are you? 37 weeks

When you were diagnosed? 30 weeks

Are you on insulin? No, luckily I've been able to keep my numbers under control by (a really boring) diet

How did this past week go for you? Great, except for mardi gras, I've been able to get my morning number more controlled

Anything you’re struggling with and need help with? I hate the poking of the fingers. It's really irritating me.

If you could have any food, regardless of carb count, what would it be? I agree, chocolate and lots of it

Any recipe/favorite snack/favorite meal idea to share? The bedtime snack that seems to keep my morning number down is 1 weight watchers chocolate raspberry ice cream bar, about a half cup of cottage cheese, and some almonds

QOTW: GD sucks, any good news to share? It's supposedly almost spring! But you'd never know it by the fresh snow outside

How far along are you?  37.5 weeks

When you were diagnosed? 28 weeks

Are you on insulin?  Glyburide at night, metformin for dinner, and glyburide at lunch.

How did this past week go for you?  Not great.  My dinner numbers kept climbing so I get to have more metformin with dinner - yay.  It makes me nauseous every time I up my dose but I get used to it after a few days.  My lunch numbers have started sucking as well.

Anything you’re struggling with and need help with?  I'm making more of an effort to do things that I love so I'm not so emotionally worn out.  The sun has been out so I've sitting outside more which has helped!  I'm getting nervous for the c-section.  I've never given birth and I've never had surgery.  Wisdom teeth removal is the closest I have ever come.

If you could have any food, regardless of carb count, what would it be?  Candy, cheesecake, cookies, pasta.  Literally everything I can't have right now.

Any recipe/favorite snack/favorite meal idea to share?  My vitamix frozen fruit with yogurt is a great snack.  I've been craving all things beef lately.  I've had mexican twice the last two nights and both nights my blood sugar spiked.  How that happened with an all beef burrito is beyond me but my numbers have been climbing the last week.

QOTW:  GD sucks, any good news to share? 12 more days.  The sun was out yesterday.  And I got a mani/pedi.  I plan on getting another one next week too!
