I agree with every point made on this list, especially #5...
5. From this point forward, don’t buy anything new. ANYTHING. Because everything you own is about to be ruined. If you buy it, they will come… and poop on it, or bite it, or color on it, or scrape it, or kick it, or sit on it, or bang it, or drop it in the toilet, probably after you went but before you flushed.
DH and I agreed we would not flip out on our child for being a child and damaging our things. If it's important put it away. Like the glass top tables from Great Grand Mom, they will be slammed upon, or the free standing planter in the corner, it will be knocked over. Even the walls, recently my dear son took a sharpie and drew hearts for Valenines Day and while I did ask him to stop, I did not flip out about it.
I love this article. And i want some one to come paint the following on my walls after i pop this kid out. Cause i guarantee i am not going to like what my body becomes, and will need someone to remind me.
"You can HATE your new body, as long as you still LOVE yourself."
The crying thing got me - a few weeks ago I had a complete break down (last straw was my nipples) and let out an ugly cry. Terrible. But while I was crying I was also thinking how I don't remember my mom crying except at movies, funerals/weddings, or when she hurt herself (like when she dropped a table on her toe) - and every once in a great while I need to cry for dumb reasons.
Do you cry in front of your kids or hide? Why have I never seen this (or do I just not remember it?) from my own mother...
I am deathly afraid of two things: being scared and crying in front of my kids - I don't want to freak them out so I feel like I need to be strong. i.e. that scary noise is just the wind not a ghost vs running and hiding haha!
