TTC After a Loss

++Bible Study Check-In++

Welcome to the Bible Study Check-In. This check-in currently runs 2 times a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Mondays are our in-depth study where we spend time tackling a study (currently the Good Morning Girls “Intentionally Focused Study).  Thursdays are our check-in day. If you cannot get int touch with your prayer partner please PM @megrae12 or @MrsG80inTN and we will assign you a new one.

This is a list of the current prayer partners. Please respond to your prayer partner's post and/or communicate via PM:

@LyndsieMarie7 & @megrae12

@EKGibs & @skategirl128

  @MoreThanSparrows08 & @MrsG80inTN

@dajhuges & @polevaultRN

@graceanne927 & @mcnsher0627

Ok, this is our last week on this Bible Study! Please make sure you add your thoughts if you want to do the next one from Good Morning Girls on Why Easter Matters.  If you have other suggestions for what we should study, please let us know!  We could look at doing a book study together like Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst or something else...

Today is our Check-in Day... How are you ladies doing with being intentional about your health?  Do you find that you have been able to focus on your health this week or have things gotten in the way?  How are you doing on the challenge for the week to make one healthy change?

I couldn't help but pass this photo along that Proverbs31 Ministries posted on their FB wall last night:

Re: ++Bible Study Check-In++

  • So, for me... I've done pretty well I think this week health wise.  I've stayed on top of my food and eating and went back to a Barre class yesterday for the first time in a while.  I did eat too many pieces of chocolate last night, but I tracked them all.  I don't feel like I've been being healthy "for" God though if that makes sense... more healthy for me... so I need to shift my focus, but that also means confronting God with my most recent loss which I haven't done yet either.  So, definitely have some opportunities for focus and growth here

    As for future studies, I am ok with whatever will keep you ladies engaged in the Word and with the group.  I would LOVE to go through Made To Crave with a group of women - even though it's mostly food related it is mainly about craving somethign rather than craving God... for me that can be both food and having a baby so I thought it would be fitting.

  • I have not done the best this week as far as taking care of me.  Yesterday I ate an entire bag of trail mix and I drank a monster energy drink.  My zoloft keeps me awake all night even though i take it in the mornings and then the next day about time for work I crash a bit. Monsters seem to help keep me alert at the office.  I don't think Monsters are that great for me so I need to stop.  When I was preggo with Claire I wanted to drink water and juices a lot.  I need to get back to those drinks.

    Made to Crave sounds great and I am all aboard with whatever gets picked.  Have a great day everyone.
  • Hi ladies!

    I've been doing pretty well with being intentional about my health this past week...especially at work! Lots of our patients' families will bring us donuts, cookies, and other sweets. I did a good job avoiding all that even though I wanted a donut so bad! I always did well feeding myself spiritually this week. I've been doing my devotionals every day and really enjoying it! :)

    I'm up for either of those studies! :)

  • I have not done as well I should have this week. Matter of fact, it has been the longest week ever and I am over all of it. I am really struggling with giving my body up to God. It's a good theory in my head but in practice, it's much harder. I am still waiting to O and I am starting to think it will never happen. I have to get bw to check for PCOS and my doc is referring me to an RE.

    I think all of this has been made much worse b/c I hit the 6 month mark since our loss. It's just been piling on lately and I am not really seeing a way out. Just be praying for me as it seems to all be hitting at once.

    I do not care what we do Bible Study wise, as long as it is something we can all be happy with.

    @MrsG80inTN I like that you are such an inspiration when it comes to being healthy. You certainly help keep me on the "straight and narrow". You will not be moving anywhere until you get on your face before God and talk to Him about this loss. Love you girl and you know what you need to do. ((Hugs)).

    @KristinDMiller ((Hugs)) I love that you are honest with yourself about your habits. I will praying that God can help you with everything.

    @mchnsher0927 ((Hugs)) I will tell you like I told Mrs G. Until you talk to God, even if it's crying, about your sweet one, you will not move on. Healing begins when you talk to God about this. Love ya, and I am here for ya.

    @polevaultRN Yay for being so good about being intentional! That is awesome! Keep feeding yourself spiritually, love.

    @polevaultRN It's so hard to stay strong when there is food all around - work is the hardest for me too.  Congrats on avoiding and feeding yourself spiritually.  Glad you are enjoying your devotionals!!

  • I've been doing ok this week - the best I can.  I've been too sick feeling to work out and I am actually missing it.  I don't feel like eating and I can't really eat much anyway, but I know three meals a day is important so I've been making myself eat what I can and I've been making myself take my vitamins every day - something I'm not usually good at, but it vital after my surgery.  Even though they taste terrible.  Hoping next week after my procedure on Monday that I feel better enough to eat again and start working out.

    Please add little extra prayers that the procedure will help and that the scar tissue will heal the way it needs to so I can continue my journey to a healthier body.

  • @MrsG80inTN – Congrats on going to the Barre class, I bet that felt good.  (((Hugs))) to you.  It’s never easy when we have to confront God with our anger and our feelings, I pray that when you do he takes those feelings and replaces them with love and peace and comfort.

    @mcnsher0627 – good job on tracking the food – I do that too and I know it’s tough. Sorry about your sweet pea – it’s ok to allow yourself to cry and feel what you are feeling.  I have been struggling with this for several months since my last miscarriage – finally had to go to a grief counselor and she has been trying to help me understand that I am allowed to feel whatever I feel and that it’s the anxiety that comes from my own unrealistic expectations of what I “should” feel that is causing more conflict.  So the other day I started to get sad when a song came on the radio that reminded me of my loss and I said “it’s ok, I’m allowed to be sad” and I cried through the song then felt better.  I hope you can find peace.  (((hugs)))

    @megrae12 (((HUGS))) isn’t the practical application part of things the worst?  It’s always so easy in our heads but then the actual doing is so hard. When do you go in for your b/w?  You are always in my prayers my dear.
