It's a glorified dog squeaker, honestly, but I wouldn't buy a dog squeaker for my son to chew on. He laughs at it, chews on it for a few minutes, then tosses it aside for harder plastic. But he's just started teething so I'm giving it some more time.
It can be a choking hazard. Read the reviews online.
I've read that on the amazon reviews but the amazon one is a knockoff (it's legs are shorter and easier to choke on). So far I haven't read anything about choking on babies r us.
He is 6.5 months now and loves these... like loves. He can pick them up, they are soft and he loves to chew on them. So if you're looking for a soft teether that is appealing to baby and not looking to spend the $$ I would suggest these.
Me son loved his so we got one for my daughter. She is already a fan!

I personally went with the ChanPieGnon collection.. They're "Sophie's friends" lol but they're a little cheaper and my DD (6months) is finally showing a lot of interest in hers (Gnon - the yellow one)

@steffie1213 no problem! They aren't really a "teether" but my LO chews on them constantly! And they will serve more purpose later because they are stackable, have numbers and textures on them, are different colors etc! Love toys that can have multiple uses!
DD didnt care for it. I dont think its very comfortable for her to hold / put in her mouth. I got a regular ring teether and she loves it much better. I was gifted this otherwise i would be pissed I wasted money on Sophie
we bought a sophie for my third child because nothing else was working for him and he loved the thing. I have gone through soo many different types of teethers and this one has been one of my favorites. My eight month old is just now starting to teeth so were bringing sophie back out. She loves how it squeaks. It may be a glorified dog toy but the thing works on some kids and you bet if it works on your kid youll be so glad you shelled out the money .
Target has an elephant by Infantino called Kiki made of the same material and it's much less expensive. My LO seems to like it. I just couldn't justify paying what Sophie costs. I am fairly certain it's only available at Target.
they have been fantastic. My little guy loves them. They are flexible, so he can bend and twist them however he wants and can grip them very easily with his little hands. He prefers these to anything else. They also wash very well...we have 2 dogs and 2 cats so every time it hits the floor we give it a quick scrub. Bonus; there are 2 in a pack. 1 stays in the house, one in the car seat.
DD is 5 months and was gifted a Sophie when she was about 4 months... if I put it in her hand she'll attempt to chew it but gets frustrated easily if she doesn't get the part that she wants in her mouth. I contemplated buying her one and I'm glad I didn't- it's not something that's been useful enough or brought her enough enjoyment for me to spend money on. Maybe once she really starts teething/gets actual teeth, and gets better hand/finger coordination, she may enjoy it more.
