  • I think it's really pretty but a little sexy for a baby shower.  Maybe if you wore a cami/cardigon as well?

  • It will prob still be a little chilly around that time so I will prob wear a light half sweater with it.
  • I'm gonna suggest something maternity. Even if it "stretches", I don't think it's going to go as far as it needs to. And I don't mean that as an insult, just that I don't think it's meant to fit a 3rd tri belly.
Cute for the beach or something, but I don't think I'd wear it to my (or anyone's) shower.

  • Hm. NMS. Maybe find an actual maternity dress, they are made to flatter your belly in all the right places. With spring right around the corner, you should have plenty of nice options.

  • EEk, I'd be scared of my boobies popping outta that one. Good for beach, not for baby shower. I'd pick out something maternity. It'll be waaaay more flattering, I promise you!

  • Just not my style for a baby shower, especially not if I was the guest of honor. I'm much more of a Sunday church dress with fancy jewelry kind of shower girl. This dress style is more appropriate for the beach or a summer party.

Did you see the other post about ON dresses 40% off? Might want to check it out for other options.

  • Is it Lycra? I think a skin tight strapless dress in a bold, all over pattern is number one on the do not wear list for 3rd tri (and frankly, just in general). I vote for an actual maternity dress, I think it will be much more flattering.
  • It kinda looks like one of thoes knit dresses that looks like it fits great in the catalog photo ... but in person not so much.

Also, I have nothing against hot pink and nothing against animal prints, but I personally would not mix them together in the same outfit.

  • NMS I would suggest a maternity dress it might not stretch the way you need

  • Is this from the Venus catalog? I don't find it that offensive in general, but I think Venus, Frédéricks of Hollywood, etc. are probably better for after baby is here.

  • I'm with PPs in that you may want to find a maternity dress instead. I don't know what you look like or how the dress fits in real life, but even still I can pretty much 100% guarantee you'll be more comfortable and look even better in a flattering maternity dress!

  • I really dislike patterns like that. It just reminds me of Jersey shore which is not my style. But if that is yours, more power to you.

  • I'd be going or classy not trashy for my baby shower...even if I looked like the model wearing that dress you couldn't pay me to put that on. I agree with the OP's. I was at old navy yesterday and they had some super cute maxi dresses for the spring. I also saw a few cute things at destination maternity that weren't overly expensive.
  • I like e style but not a fan of the pattern. A little too much going on IMO

    It's a BOY

  • There are really cute maxi dresses at destination maternity. I wouldn't buy a non maternity dress. Definitely match it with a nice cardigan.

    I'd keep shopping.

I was going to say this reminded me of Lisa Frank!
  • NMS at all. In fact I find it very tacky.

This. Definitely NMS. Also agree with PP that it's probably not going to fit a third-tri belly very well if it's not maternity.
  • Guise! Give OP a break! She only has a handful of discussions/replies. She's totes naive to the way us May '14 moms think.

  • I actually like the dress.
But as PP's have said, it's completely inappropriate for a baby shower.
This may be a little personal- but do you actually feel your grandmother or older friends/family members would be impressed with something that revealing?
  • This content has been removed.
  • Eh, this specific dress aside, I personally don't think baby shower attire needs to be Betty Draper demure. Not everyone has grandmothers and aunts at their baby shower. And besides ... some grandmothers dress like that.

Seriously, in my IL's crowd you might see that at church.

  • @kshampeny I saw your post and then went straight to eBay and purchased a Steel Panther t-shirt. Epic.

No. Hell no actually. Is that cheetah print? People wear that still? Not appropriate for a baby shower. OP how old are you? Just wondering. Definitely not a maternity dress and unless you look like her, don't do it.
