*** Wednesday Bedrest Check-in ***

Good morning mamas!!

How did you sleep?

Any new pregnancy symptoms, cravings, or aversions?

Upcoming appointments, milestones, or updates? (Ticker change?)

QOTD: What are some pre-pregnancy or pre-bedrest things that you're excited to get back to?

Re: *** Wednesday Bedrest Check-in ***

  • My latest craving/addiction has been ginger ale. But today I'm craving a slice of chocolate pudding pie from a local restaurant here in town.... ugh it's amazing!! Dh just left to go get me a slice, I told him "you might as well bring the whole dang pie" I mean so he won't have to go back in the event that I want more... I'm just watching out for him really;)

17p injection tomorrow. I don't see the OB until next week.

QOTD: yesterday I realized that I haven't worn jeans in forever... probably since before I got pregnant. Because it was summertime when we found out I was pg so I was only wearing shorts then. I also, oddly enough, miss cooking and cleaning the kitchen (it must be the nesting getting to me). And of course, I have to be honest, i can't wait until dh & I finally get some "special time" it may have to be 6-8wks after LO arrives but when the time comes... it's on!! Lol

  • I slept okay, still having weird pregnancy dreams that a randomly wake me up. And of course trying to take my Procardia at midnight then 6 am isn't the best.

I had my weekly progesterone shot yesterday and will see my OB next Tuesday and get another shot. I'm going to try and get my glucose screening done either Thursday or Friday.

26 weeks today! Hopefully 10 more weeks of bedrest!

I can't wait to just get up and move around as much as I want. Laying on my sides watching tv is getting old. Then I get tired and I nap. Just not having the anxiety of preterm labor will be a huge relief.

  • I'm having a love-hate relationship with my nifedipine right now. Decided to take it last night and did sleep a little better, so probably will again. I'm continuing to avoid taking in the middle of the night which tends to make me feel like a shakey, dizzy, heart pounding mess.

Yesterday was my bday so we had my favorite pizza and cupcakes. I've already had 3 more cupcakes today... so dangerous!!

Had my regular NST today and everything looked good. Next appts are Tuesday.

QOTD: Have to second what @Mrs_D_in_KY said, being done with the "is this the day, is this contraction the one" anxiety will be awesome. I can't wait to take my son to the park, go for walks and run up and down the stairs. I just want to feel like myself again.

  • Hi everyone.  Nothing new to report here.  I have been working like crazy lately - we have a big deadline coming up for work, and my maternity leave is supposed to start in the next few days/next week so I'm trying to get everything wrapped up.  I can't wait to be done, I'm so stressed out.  At least it's taken my mind off the fact that I get my cerclage out tomorrow.  I am really nervous and hoping that it's not too painful, and also hoping that I can keep the baby in for a little while longer.

QOTD:  With the way this week is going, I can't wait to have a couple glasses of wine!  And definitely being off pelvic rest :)

    Happy birthday @haziedaze

  • Hi ladies can I join you? I give you credit for already resting...I'm not sure how to do this. I was put on bed rest yesterday after my cervix has shortened from 2.7 to 1.9 in less than a week. I'm starting crinone today when my husband picks it up. PTL is a scary reality now and I hope this next week of rest and meds helps. I also have to schedule a renal and gull bladder u/s. How do you ladies do this? Good thoughts for all of you.

  • Thanks guys.  My appt is in an hour and I'm starting to freak out.  I don't know why, I'm just getting all panicky and feel like I'm going to hyperventilate.  Ugh I hope this goes ok.

Unless baby comes today, I will update tonight.

Definitely join in! So sorry about the cervix shortening and glad they caught it. About the ultrasound- can you ask your doctor about whether you should have a wheelchair for the journey from the car to the appt? I was on modified bedrest so didn't need this, but have seen other moms doing this.

  • Thanks for the welcome haziedaze. I am on modified bed rest also this week. I'm sure I can ask for a wheel chair if I don't feel up to it next Thurs. I'm wondering how this first week of "rest" will go. is Nifedipine just a pill you take or a steroid you receive? Just curious...I keep learning new things through my IVF process and now the pregnancy.
