Day sleeping

My daughter is 4 weeks old and she naps on me during the day. She'll sleep for 3 hours when she's laying on my chest. If I swaddle her and put her in her bassinet, she'll usually only sleep 1 hour. At this age, should I be putting her down to nap? If not now, when do I start? I enjoy cuddling with her during the day.

    My little guy does the same thing! I do find that, if I let him sleep on me for a little while, until he's really out like a light (like half an hour or so), then put him down in the bassinet, he will often keep napping. Hope this helps!

    At four weeks, I'd say you're fine letting her sleep on you. My LO is almost four months and I am just now teaching him to fall asleep on his own.

    However,I would not let her go more than 3 hours between feedings during the day -- that way she will sleep longer at night. Wake her up to feed if it's been that long during the day. She needs your help to straighten out her days and nights.
