*Loss Warning* Facebook Bans Mother For Posting Photos Of Her New Born Son w/ Birth Defect

This story just broke my heart. I can't understand why these pictures were blocked or why she was able to get banned from Facebook for posting them, but what a sad, heartbreaking story.

  • Terribly sad story.

This is an old story though. Not sure why this website is picking it up now. But, if you're interested, FB did apologize to the family. Not that it makes the mistake any easier to swallow to begin with.

  • @sempre_staccato Thanks for posting that link! I didn't realize it was an old story but it is nice to know that Facebook apologized for removing her photos.

  • So heartbreaking
  • I am a crying mess after watching that video. I feel like going through something like that would break me right in half. (Having a sick baby, not FB being asshats.)

  • So sad. I would have been furious if that was me in their shoes. I see so many awful nudity pictures all over Facebook. How could they ban such a sweet baby??

  • I actually saw that video on FB so whether they banned her or not it is still floating around. So sad that this happened to them!
  • So sad. But it's probably not necessarily the fault of Facebook that it was deleted. Most likely the program is set up to where after so many people clicked to "report" or "remove" the post it automatically deletes it. As a programmer, that's how I would set it up so you don't have to have someone manually checking every post...

That being said, it's still very sad that the family had to endure more difficulty after everything they'd gone through.
  • For facebook to pull content you post, people would need to report it.  People are assholes.

And yes it's facebooks fault.  If a thing is reported it is reviewed before it's pulled to see if it does in fact violate terms of use.
  • Can't stop crying after watching that video.  I am in awe of his family's strength and courage.

  • Wow. Blows my mind that they would actually have people to do that. Good to know.
