One & Done: Only child

My Child

So lastnight after not feeling well i went to bed after DS. DH left for the gym (i did not know this). He came back and woke me up to go look in the bathroom. Apparently DS got up and trashed the bathroom. Toilet paper was everywhere and he got his bath markers and drew all over the tub, the sink, and the floor. We went in his room and he is peacefully sleeping in his bed like nothing happened......

Tonight his door gets a baby gate.

Haha!  That is great!  It is kind of funny to see what kids do, left to their own devices.

  • OMG.  :-/
Whenever DS' crib gets converted, we are definitely locking him up in his room. I don't trust him one bit.
Yea we converted his bed on Saturday and this is the first incident. I thought i would give him the benefit of the doubt..... WRONG.
  • Whoops!  Sounds like the baby gate or even a door monkey is in order.  That seriously sucks!
    What's a door monkey?
  • Hahahaha it's the perfect alibi! "What??? I was sleeping! It wasn't me!"

  • Is he in a big boy bed?  I think I am keeping J in her crib until she's 17.

    Yup just switched on Saturday.
  • LOL!  That is pretty funny, especially since he went back to bed like nothing happened!  Crazy kids.

We have door knob locks on all the doors upstairs (like the ones M&M linked to) so DD can get into the hallway, but not into any of the rooms.
I have these in the kitchen on the pantry doors. Guess i will put another one on the bathroom door :)
  • Question - which do you use or prefer once they go to a big boy bed? DS is upstairs away from us and I don't know if a gate in the hallway (prior to the stairs), in his doorway or just closing his door is best? Sorry to hijack - suggestions?

Not hijacking :) We are on a second level as well. I have a gate on the stairs AND i am going to put one up in his doorway. I am putting the lockdown on him LOL
  • That seems like the way to go - now to suggest to hubby investing in yet ANOTHER gate  :)

@bostonkisses2 also suggested a door monkey for his door. I looked it up and we might go this route. With a gate still on the stairs...

  • so cute. We definitely got the gate, I hate the thought of her walking around the house while I'm sleeping!
