Really?

Maybe I'm a naive FTM, I know kids are messy but really? I just can't stop thinking of bubble boy...

  • We used those at the daycare when the kids painted or did the water table. I wouldn't use them at home because i can just strip DS down.

  • Hehe those look pretty awesome for a daycare where parents bring their kids in fancy clothes :)
  • Naive first timer it is. I heard really good things about the bibs might have to throw on of these on the registry!

  • I don't have those but they look like a great idea.  Some moms are ok with their kid being messier than others.  I don't want my kid messy and I don't want her clothes stained.  We use this for most messy meals... https://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=506759&catid=182581&aid=338666&aparam=506759

  • To answer your question, they're so messy sometimes that crap will end up in places that bib doesn't cover for sure. lol

  • Those bibs are awesome. And you'll still find food all over them. If I don't have to go on stain removal patrol every time he eats, it's a win in my book.
  • I strip my guy down at home but that bib would be awesome at a restaurant.

  • Looks great for painting time.  Not sure how necessary it'd be for meals.  We just push DS's sleeves up and use a bib if it's going to be messier, or if we're home, he just gets stripped.
  • These look pretty good.  I just roll DD's long sleeves way up and put a huge bib on her that covers her shoulders and upper front on up.  There is even a little pocket at the bottom of the bib that catches some food pieces she drops.

If I know I'm making spaghetti for dinner or something with a dark sauce, I'll put her in a darker shirt and treat it right after she eats if there is a mess.

  • My mother in law has a bunch for when her grandkids come over to eat, ha!
  • I can't say I feel the need for that with DS. He wears a regular bib and I roll up his sleeves. He gets food all over his face, but not too much on his arms and shoulders. Now if only they'd come up with some kind of bib/hat he'd keep on so he can't run his food covered hands through his hair like he usually does.

  • I just Pinned this because I love it that much.  :D  I'm thinking more for finger painting or "helping" Mama make cookies, but even when we're out to eat it would be nice!  Now that I think about it, I might need 2 or 3 of these..... 8->

  • I'm cool with messes but Ds wrecked some clothes and that is just annoying. Food and oil stains. IT's more fun to strip the mess off of something like that, then to put in the effort cleaning and not doing other fun things. Life's too short and cleaning up after children happens too often, any little bit helps.

I just wanted to add that if you're thinking of something like this for arts & crafts only the actual bibs can be a bit pricy but IKEA sells a 2-pack of art smocks that have full sleeves and are way more affordable.

Exactly!  And I have been disappointed when a really cute outfit my DD was wearing became permanently stained because I thought (for unfounded reasons) she wouldn't be messy "THIS time."  I finally accepted that I had to strip her down to a diaper when she was in her high chair.  I'm prego with #2 and I'm assuming it will be the same way.
  • I bought similar bibs from ikea: $5 for a set of two. They are awesome!

  • We used this type with both kids for eating out.  I love them!  My husband's cousin calls them their "Feast Capes".
