Babymoon on the East Coast, Suggestions?

So we were thinking of taking a small vacation (leaving on a Friday night and coming back on a Sunday night).  We joking call it a Babymoon.  Just some time away from the families and friend and just unplug for a weekend.  We live in the Northern Virginia area.  We were thinking of anything in a 4 hour radius.  Not really interested in a city.  We were thinking maybe the Poconos, or the Homestead in WV, or something in the southern VA area, not sure. That's all I can think of.

 Any suggestions?

  • DH and I spent our last anniversary in Deep Creek, MD (it's about 3 ish hrs for us south of Baltimore so it may be more than that for you).  We did a Friday night - Sunday and absolutely loved it!  We stayed at a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, Carmel Cove Inn.  It's up in the mountains near/on the lake...it's beautiful!  We were actually talking about going back again this year before LO gets here.

  • Check out pocono palace in the poconos. It's a great place to concentrait on you and the hubby. Great before a baby.
  • The NC Outer Banks are super nice and not too far from nova. Also Deep Creek, MD is beautiful, in the winter its a ski resort area but in the summer the lake is a big draw, they also have really cute B&Bs in the area!

  • Thank you for all the suggestions.  I think we are going to go end of Spring early Summer...Not sure yet.

  • My husband and I are trying to plan something similar as I'm due in early August. Have you thought of Charlottesville?  We were married at Keswick Hall and they have a beautiful infinity pool and spa.  There's also golf and other activities.  The Clifton Inn is also nice, and there's good food in Charlottesville.

St. Michael's is also an option - not sure about your price range but Inn at Perry Cabin looks amazing, though a little $$$.
