Daycare spots

So I notice when I wash clothes from LO after he comes home from daycare, there seems to be some stain spots. They don't appear on any clothes that he has solely worn at home, just at school. What do you think they could be?

  • Food? Dirt? Messy art project? Could be anything.

  • What doesn't make sense is that he gets all sorts of things on his clothes at home too... Could it be from their wipes?

They probably aren't washing it off as well as you do.  I would ask if I were you...

  • Thank you!  We have mentioned it several times because it is frustrating that anything he wears to daycare becomes stained.  We don't think that they use bibs all of the time because sometimes he tries ripping them off at home but then we make him put it back on. Because of that we bought one that is more like a coat and goes over the shoulder so he can't rip it off yet he comes home filthy.  We pretreat everything that day before wash, but I guess stains can set in.  Frustrating!
  • Our daycare is pretty good about keeping them clean but sometimes things happen. I think it's because they can't really pretreat so if things get dirty they put them in a bag and it sits in there until I wash it that night. My kids have daycare clothes and non-daycare clothes. I would hold on to the things that have little stains and that's what gets worn to daycare that way if there are more stains you won't care too much.

  • If they are light spots, it could be from bleach that they use to clean.  Most centers use a spray bottle and stray drops can get all over the place.
