Hello! I'm a FTM and I was wondering what toys I should put on my registry. Most of the big ticket items will be purchased by my husband and I or the grandparents. I know that bottles and such are an iffy thing to register for since we don't know LO's preferences yet. I would prefer not to even make a public registry but since some people prefer to have a list to go by I was thinking I'd fill with a variety of toys, clothes, blankets, and books. Any suggestions on toys and things to put on my registry? Thanks!

These links, doesn't have to be that specific brand, but the links are awesome. Soft books, rattles, things they can chew on, soft toys with crinkle paper inside. Also mats for the floor are great with or without dangle bits.

Vtech makes a train with letter block and picture blocks that my boys loved from when they were first sitting to now they are 1 & 2 and the music isn't too bad almost tolerable! Books, the ring stacker thing, sophie (and/or other teethers), some light up/music type things, an activity mat, a mirror toy... you really don't need a ton, but I understand the want to put stuff on a registry. Happy scanning!

These are awesome. They come in a variety of colors, shapes, with rattle-y balls, without, etc.

They have alot of cute cuddly animal etc toys that have crinkle elements to them as well as squeakers, mirrors, teething rings etc. My DD had 2 of them (the moose and the dragon) and adored them when she was a baby (and this baby boy will get them to play with too).

This isn't a toy but will help you pick up the bath toys. And now that DS is bigger he loves using it by himself to scoop his bath toys.

OP, in addition to the link I posted above for the Lamaze brand baby toys, have a look at the toys by:

- https://www.mybtoys.com/, we have some of the baby appropriate ones: Elemenosqueeze, Hugs Links, One Two Squeeze, FunKeys, etc and DD currently plays with some of their toys for older kids. They are well made, colourful and really nice toys that last well and come in a variety of price points.

- https://www.sassybaby.com/sassy-toys-for-all, really good toys for babies too that have a developmental rating/slant to them, come in a variety of price points and hold up really well. We had a variety of these too: rattles, crib/floor mirror, teethers, linking rings/letters, high chair toys etc and DD really enjoyed them all too.

All of the baby toys we had for DD will be passed on to DS (except for her Sophie, we need a new one for DS since she bit through one of the legs when teething her eye teeth).

Teething toys that go in the fridge to cool are nice. I'd go more books than toys though as books last longer.

My friend gave me this Weebleville Town Center because her son loved it so much and so did my son. It's expensive, but totally worth the price in entertainment and joy it brought my son.

-There's a spinning thing that has a suction cup on it that he loved - it looked like a carousel. Don't know the name but it's by sassy and we got it at target.
-Toys that you pull and they vibrate
-skwish classic (he had the winkel but this was more fun for him)

I'm thinking it is no longer manufactured and considered perhaps vintage, or collectible at this point at that price, because honestly that is a lot. But, I'm telling you, it is so cute bc it plays this tune and baby gets rocking back and forth and cuteness overload!

I saw Weebles a few months back at Essex, so you might be able to luck up on them for less. It might not be this exact village, but the idea was similar.

I also second the recommendation for Indestructible Books. DS loved those and still picks them up from time to time. They don't actually have words in them, but the pictures are gorgeous and are easy to adlib to.

Really, the first few months DS was clueless about what toys were. When he finally started to "get" them, he gravitated to things that made noise when he moved it (rattles, crinkly books and toys, blocks with bells in them). He also liked mirrors and black and white baby board books.

DS loved the O Balls, they have many more products now, a play mat with danglies and a mirror, he had a snail that had a mirror in it that he loved to look in, NUBY has little handheld toys that have the crinkle, you can get them at Walmart or Target. Any kind of books are great, I started reading to DS pretty much right away and he can sit for 30-45 min reading books at a time. Everyone has listed great suggestions! Make sure you register for some older toys like 6-12 months. They really like to start exploring and have different types of toys once they can sit up. Pretty much anything that lights up and sings songs, shape sorters, ring stacker, vtech and fisher price have tons of great toys for that age range.
