Did you know your insurance may pay for your breast pump?

After going to a breastfeeding class I found out that most insurance will actually pay for an electric pump. Call your insurance and see. Make sure you tell them you want an electric pump. I found out my insurance will pay for a dual pump or pay for a rental of a hospital grade pump for up to a year.

  • Yup, they are required to! Though some of them cheap out and only pay for a hand-pump. Though, that's all you get through WIC also I think.

  • Yes, many health insurance companies do. Just check if they cover the total or partial cost.

"medical need" = working mom away from baby.
