This is a big over share but figured I'd throw it out there anyway since my dr office is closed so I can't get the nurse's opinion until tomorrow. How long after giving birth before you had a bowel movement? I'm going on day 5 with nothing and have been religiously taking colace. I hadn't really given it a thought until this morning when I realized that it's been quite a while. Not really looking forward to this event but I guess it's gotta happen at some point!
Re: Tmi overload: post birth bowel movement

I had a BM the day after labor. And everyday since. I haven't taken anything to help me go. I hate that I poop so much ::
Want TMI? This morning while trying to get my pump parts cleaned up before heading upstairs I thought I just had to fart but umm yeah- I shit my pants , thankfully a small amount and my monster pad caught it.
Didn't hurt more like relief haha
'But there was so much farts!'
Lol
They said as long as I could pass gas in the hospital I was good to go home 24 hrs after delivery.

Mine was the next day. My TMI was that when I labored at home for so long I bet I had literally 5-7 BMs a day and they were SO painful because of how low he was. I would be on toilet crying. I heard they were painful after so I was nervous but that was nothing compared to mine before.
Keep drinking plenty of water and taking your stool softener. I promise post-delivery pooping isn't nearly as painful at you imagine!
