I guess i just have a ton of questions! we have 14 month old twins and a singleton (and last!) due in August, so the babies (can I still call them my babies?) will be 19 months old when the new baby arrives.
1. we have a nice double stroller now, but as we live close to the beach i'm hoping to take a lot of walks after the baby is born. do i trade in my double for a triple? and what would our options even be with two toddlers and a newborn? or should we just keep the double and buy a single and use our adapter for the infant seat?
2. i was a super nap nazi with our babies. i felt that rested babies are happy babies. however my mom, along with many others, tell me that things are very different when a newborn comes along with toddlers in the picture. i obviously cannot keep two almost-two-year-olds inside from august to end of october. they will want to be outside, and i want to be more spontaneous. do you just go with the flow? get a moby and wear the baby? i'm feeling a lot of anxiety with the fact that i'm going to have children in different stages. i think twins are sometimes "easier" just because they're usually at the same developmental stages whereas this is a huge curveball. thanks for any advice and support!
Re: For MoMs with twins and then a singleton...
It's going to be lot of just trouble shooting once the baby is here. My dd1 wouldn't nap in a stroller and was difficult to put down. But ds would sleep any where. I still can throw him in a stroller and go to the park and have him take his regular nap there. Your newborn could go either way.
As for the stroller, look into adding a boogy board to it. The twin who's more active can ride, one can sit and baby can be in the stroller.
Good luck and congrats!

I plan to do most of my shopping at Target where they have the double seat carts that have a large enough shopping basket to hold the infant carrier down inside (NOT on the cart's single child seat, of course). I haven't attempted this in reality yet since I haven't taken little guy anywhere but the pediatrician's office since his NICU release.
My twins have basically quit taking scheduled naps. One of them has never been a good napper, ever. If I can get the baby settled after one of his feedings, I try and encourage the girls to lie down with their blankies and set the mood. Occasionally, I get results. Usually, it turns into a house party as soon as I shut their door behind me. Seriously. I've had to remove all furniture from their room, other than their cribs, and put a slide lock on their closet door so they don't break into it and pull everything out of it onto the floor.
It's a crazy train here, but I'm loving it. and CONGRATS!
As for the stroller, you could invest in a triple and keep the double for when someone just takes the twins...

We took baby for his first outing after 2 weeks in his carseat. We kept him covered up so no one bothered him and he just rolled with it. I've been lucky in that he's a great sleeper in his carseat though.
Good luck!
