Last week Updates:

Congratulations to Jenstwins on the birth of her DD Audrey and DS Rhys! Not sure how early they were since I never got her EDD (I just know that it's March). I found her birth story here:
https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12245804/update-on-pg-4-jenstwins-twins-have-arrived-long-and-pip/p1
Both babies are home and doing well. I just PM'ed her so hopefully she'll pop in for an update.

MinaE01: Had CL check and going strong at 3.2 cm! Everything is fine and last CL check will be at 31 weeks!

megs2011: OB was able to find baby heartbeat on the Doppler! Looking forward to NT scan.

rslhmg: fluids, BP, and urine are good and no random pains! LO still breech but that's ok at 28 weeks. Appts are every Tuesday so her next update will be after that.

flergirl: Has a love/hate relationship with zen~but keeping up the good work of baby Jenna growing and thriving in utero!

Missa_g: finished her 2 BCP packs after D&C and back on TTC journey. Has preconception meeting with OB on TuesdayFX for a BFP soon!

haziedaze: has reached 32 weeks and CL is fine so they are no longer checking!  has mild polyhydramnios so she has weekly NSTs; contractions are still present. Please keep her in your T&P's

Bluebird2318: has reached 33 weeks! Very pleased with OB switch who is much more open about a VBAC. :-) No pre-e concerns and baby's head is down.

Re: Pregnant & TTC After A Preemie 3/07/14

  • Loading the player...
  • I was at my OB yesterday. BP is up; they are increasing meds and I am doing the sexy 24 hour urine test. This is exactly how things started with Josh. I am trying not to freak and I go back this coming Friday to recheck my BP. My fingers and hands are swelling up like balloons. I need chocolate.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • Aw, @punky917 - bedrest couldn't have been easy but I am so glad you got your FT baby! And thanks so much for being in charge of this check-in and keeping up with all our bidness every week!

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • @Jenstwins Congratulations! I'm glad the NICU experience for your twins was so much shorter and less stressful than the first time through!

@flerlgirl Fingers crossed that it was just a fluke high BP! If you don't mind me asking, how high was your BP and how high is it normally?

@punky917 Thanks for continuing the check-in every week! Being able to post positive updates and add support to other people's journeys is very cathartic. I'm glad you were able to have your FT baby!

@haziedaze Keep up the good work, lady! April is just around the corner; we got this!

@MinaE01 and @megs2011 Glad all is well!

@rslhmg Glad you had a good check-up! My little guy went from breech at 20 weeks, to head down at 24, to transverse at 28, and back to head down at 33!

@bluebird2318 - when I am not pregnant (so...never), my BP is usually in the 120/80 range at its highest. I have never had BP issues until these rassafrassin kids. Yesterday it was 143/87, up from 113/72 at my appointment the week before. Jerks.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • @Flerlgirl, hope the high bp was a fluke. I had one high bp reading when we were tryung to find out gender, but thankfully it was from running late, having to take the stairs in a hurry, and having a half cup of coffee to try and get her moving to show her stuff. Was still scary, even knowing the combo of things that caused it. Even if it wasn't a fluke, fingers crossed they can get it down for you and keep lo cooking!
@Bluebird2318 thanks :)! I'm hoping this one still being breech is a sign we will get to term. Dd1 was head down at 28wks and stayed that way. I just keep hoping all the differences between pregnancies are good signs.

  • @Flergirl Thanks! I hope that BP was a fluke or that meds can take care of it. Keep us posted!

  • @flergirl Thinking of you and hoping that high BP was a fluke. Try to relax and stay positive - just because this is how things started with Josh does not mean this guarantees the same outcome. FX for good news this week for you!

  • Haven't had to have it twice, but did it at my 28wk appointment with both DD1 and the current pregnancy. Maybe they did it too early the first time? I haven't heard of it being done at 16wks before. Since it came back normal for you, thats the only thing I can think of, my ob said (both times) I won't have to do it again as long as it came back normal.

  • Having issues editing from my phone, but wanted to add, I'd ask one of the other drs in the practice for more clarification since the one saying you have to do it again isn't giving an actual answer.

  • Thanks for the love, ladies!

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • @mrsdbc, I am not familiar with that test, but I agree that you need to get a real answer! That was a douchey thing for that doctor to say even if he was kidding. Poke him in the knee cap until he gives you a real answer.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • Sorry to be late to the party!

I went to L&D for lots of contractions yesterday at 33 weeks. Good news is my cervix is long, posterior and closed, and stayed that way for 3 hours despite tons of contractions. It doesn't get much better than that, although my uterus contracts a lot. The Nurses in L&D all felt sorry for me. I'm very thankful for the 17P which I feel like is making the difference- I was 1cm at 27 weeks with my son and then 3cm when I went into labor at 29 weeks. I may actually have a termie this time!!! It's getting so close I can taste it!

@Flerlgirl, sorry about the scare. There's nothing worse than that omnious "history is repeating itself" feeling. I have to say though, I've felt like that several times and this baby is writing his own story! I'm trying to focus on the fact that no matter what this story will be different! Lots of T&P for you!

@Bluebird2318 thank you! Getting so excited for April!

  • Everything is still looking good for another healthy 11 wks, but it turns out my back pain isn't just back pain, this one is causing some sciatica. I will take that over another early delivery any day!
