Didn't produce breastmilk after 1st baby - any hope for 2nd one???

I produced virtually no milk after my daughter was born.  I worked with a consultant for 14 days, mainly pumping and only got drops.  I'm now expecting my second daughter and I'm curious if anyone was able to produce milk the second time around who wasn't able the first time around.  Any tips on making that happen?

    If you were making some milk then yes there is a good chance. Were you evaluated by a doctor to see if there are any underlying issues? There is a very small fraction of women who can't produce breastmilk but I think that is rare and (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) I think if that's the case you wouldn't make any at all.

    Just curious.... Did you give birth early? Or have a c-section? That could have had some impact. But I would think give it a good try and hopefully it will work out the second time. maybe add in tea/supplements to try to boost supply if it doesn't come in right away. Good luck!

    She arrived naturally 5 days after her due date.  No complications.  Once we realized I wasn't producing milk I took Motherlove More Milk supplement, but it didn't help.

    No.  Obviously I told my doctor about the issue at a follow up and he is pretty much of the opinion that this happens to some women and he thinks it's unlikely I'll get milk this time around.
