We haven't done this in a while. I'm curious about what toys your kids love (or don't love) or what you have your eye on for the 18-24 month range. Bonus points for photos and links. And go!
Still prefers the recycle bin (empty juice bottles, boxes, etc.), wooden spoons and tupperware to any toy. He is starting to like to 'ride' his John Deere tractor
I wouldn't say Morgan has a favorite toy yet, she is an equal opportunity player
She will play with her stuffed animals then go to her tent, rocking horse and then back to the animals. The one thing she plays with all the time though are the Mardi Gras beads, my DH brought a bunch home and she loves dressing up with them.
Ainsley loves, loves, loves her Little People Princess Songs Palace and the Little People disney princesses that go with it. It is an 18+ month toy, but she has it all figured out. She also has four dolls with soft bodies that she loves to play with. She actually rocks and burps them, and puts them in her little doll stroller and pushes them around. It is adorable!
Gianna loves to play with any stuffed animal, she has now gotten into playing with her baby dolls, feeding them and pushing them in the stroller. She also loves this pig toy, it comes with big coins and she has finally figured how to get them in without help.
DD loves her my pal Violet (although she really just likes the music function...if she hits any other paw, she keeps hitting till she finds a song she likes)....she also loves her Ariel & Eric and Aladdin & Jasmine little people (she likes to keep them together as a set..weirdo)...but to be honest, her favorite thing to play with is the drawers in our kitchen...DH keeps 4-5 squeeze bottles (think the plastic ketchup and mustard bottles) in the bottom drawer of our kitchen and DD loves to "help" while he's in the kitchen making dinner by taking them out, bringing all of them to me, and then taking them back and putting them back in the drawer...and then repeating the process again.
We go in phases: stuffed animals/dolls, mega blocks, one of her ride on toys (car/pony/lady bug)... then we take all of the dish towels out of the drawer, try to climb in the fridge, and pull out the tupperware... then it's dance party to whatever music I find (lately, it's been the Disney pandora station)... then we take all the diapers out of the basket and it's a good day if I forget to put the wipes up high enough... and then we start all over. Oh, and if she can find her way into the bathroom and take stuff out of there (read all the feminine hygine products), it's a REALLY good day in her mind.
I actually sort of wonder why we buy her toys since TP and tampons are the biggest hits of the day most days.
We're another home overrun by megablocks and the shapes and pegs from his shape sorter and peg thingy. He loves his bike and most of his horrible musical toys. :P He is completely not interested in stuffed animals though, but that may be because he loves chasing the poor cat and rubbing his face into her fur.
I finally bought some magnetic cupboard locks for the kitchen to keep him out as I can't stand two rooms full of crap on the floor!
DD's biggest love is books. I could get rid of ALL the toys and only keep books, and I'm fairly confident that she wouldn't care one bit. She also loves to dig in the dog's toy bin...
I would say her favorite toys are the Fisher Price Little People Farm, V-tech Go-Go Smart Cars, M&D wooden knob puzzles, and her crayons/paper.
I'm eyeing a tricycle (or something similar) for the next toy. And something with lots of moveable pieces/parts... was looking at the M&D latch board, or maybe a pretend tool kit or something...
The thing DD plays with the most by fat are her books. She would be happy to just read books all day. When she does play with toys she likes her popper, her drum, and her little people airplane, and her whistles. We take her to music class and her teacher mentioned during the last class that if your child is old enough to sit on their they are old enough for a recorder so I will probably go buy her one of those.
@singlemom31, Morgan was in the bathroom with DH the other day and found my tampons. She ran all over the house with a wrapped one in her mouth!
Tampons are one of Lydia's favorite "toys"! Those and soda pop cans (full or out of the recycling) and toilet paper rolls. She'll move and stack the cans or rolls all day long!
DS plays with a variety of toys, although his preference is definitely towards real things like pots, pans and tupperware. His favorite toy is definitely his Cozy Coupe: he gets in and out and in and out and in and out numerous times a day.
DD really loves books. Her favorites are green eggs and ham and this Bubble Guppies set.
She also loves this learning table, especially the music setting.
She also like these flash cards, although she could care less about the touch and feel element. I like how sturdy the cards are and how they provide how to say each one in 4 languages.

Her doll, she treats it like a baby and pushes it on her car.
