Cosleeper for twins?

Anyone use the Arms Reach Co-sleeper for their twins in the beginning?  If so, how did you like it?  We were gifted a used original style one and put it together today.  It looks big enough for two and it seems like the weight limit is 35 lbs which would obviously last us a bit but I was looking for any personal opinions on using it.  Thanks!

  • I used it for my singletons and loved it, but for singletons it only fit them for the first 2ish months.  When they start rolling and moving around more, they get wedged in the side more easily.  I can't see twins fitting in it well, so I think I am going straight to the basinet part of a pack and play.

Did you have the original or mini for your singleton? We had our single in a mini and yes I would the mini only fits one, but his slept fine for about 4 months. I was under the impression the original was large enough for 2. PNPs aren't stable enough for my taste.
  • We had one but hardly used it at all as our twins hated sleeping flat on their backs. They were on our chests for the first few weeks (out of desperation - I wouldn't recommend it) and then after failing at the co-sleeper over and over we moved them to rock n plays, where they slept until they outgrew them at around 5 months. Since you have one, it's worth a try, and if nothing else you can use it as a play pen.

  • We have a full size one and plan to use it with the twins (we actually were gifted another that we'll use if/when they're bigger and still in our room) together. The full size, I think will fit 2 together for a couple of months. My daughter was never a big roller and was swaddled for a long time and never moved. Of course we'll have to see with the boys, but hoping to get away with just one cosleeper for a while. And on DH's side of the bed if I have a c/s.

We used a co-sleeper (Original size) for the first 2 months.  Our twins fit fine in it (they were each 5.5 lbs at birth and our boy was 19.5" to give you an idea about their size).   I wouldn't say they slept great.  Around 2 months I started putting them in their cribs for naps and noticed their sleep in there was better than the co-sleeper.  But, it was great to have them close by for night feedings.  I plan on using the co-sleeper again.  My twins got used to sleeping flat and by about 3 months were (and still are) fantastic sleepers.

  • We had one and used it for a while. It was fine for a long time.
But they both slept better in the Rock and Plays. If you cross the bottom bars over each other you can rock them at the same time!

  • No experience, sorry... We are using one of their cribs as a cosleeper. We left one side down and will securenit to our bed.

  • We bought it but barely ended up using it. We found with our boys, we could NOT sleep in the same room with them; they were just such noisy, gassy, grunting babies even when they were sleeping and not fussing/crying during the night. So after about 10 days we ended up moving them to the crib in their room and DH and I started sleeping in shifts.

  • And yes, size-wise the Original is large enough for two in the first few months, especially if they are swaddled. We did end up putting it down in our living room as a PnP/holding spot for the babies.

  • We moved one of their cribs in our room. We're also keeping it on hubby's side if I have a c/s.
