Weight loss gals

So, after 2 weeks of eating like crap, I have finally gotten back on the wagon.  I had a protein shake for breakfast with whey protein powder, chocolate PB powder, banana and milk.  (400 calories!!)

And flavored unsweetened coffee.  This is my weakness.

I weighed in and took measurements today as well.  I also took before pictures.  I maybe within a pound or two of my healthy BMI, but my middle and my rear do not look good.  ::shutters::

I saw a friend's results after doing the Beachbody 21 day fix so I ordered it last night.  I think I will do the 30 day shred until I get my order in (in addition to my running).

How is everyone else doing?

Great job getting refocused!! I am down 30 but left my scales at home, I really meant to bring them, it's killing me!! My weight loss challenge ends Saturday and I think I have lost more than anyone else in it, including men!! I am retaining fluid this week despite my fluid pill, not sure what to do about it at this point. Hope it gets back to normal after I get home.
    That is amazing!!  Great job!

  • I ate and drank as I wanted while we were in Hawaii. Now I'm trying to get back to eating clean and working out. DH wanted Dunkers from Trader Joe's- I made him take them to work so I wouldn't be tempted. I'm very uncomfortable with my body right now, so I'm really hoping my weight-loss mind-set will kick in!
  • I was finishing a double stuff oreo as I opened this thread.

I'm on vacation. I've been eating extra junk and not getting my steps in. But we head home today. Then I'm back in the game. The boys' birthday party in is a month. It's my current goal to stay on track and really push myself until then.

  • I am down 15 pounds as of this morning! I have family coming on Thursday so the real challenge will be staying within my food goals while they're here. They are overweight and really don't care. Well, my dad does, but SM doesn't. They love to eat out and when they do eat at home it's stuff we don't touch right now (rich pastas, casseroles, enchiladas, etc). I'll do a cheat meal, but don't want to do a week of them. Plus I've been eliminating junk food (candy, chips, etc.) from our house. For the kids too, not just me. They will go to the store and bring back bags of the stuff. I know it's no big deal every once in a while, but we are in the middle of trying to form new, healthy habits, sigh. One week won't derail it all, right?

  • I'm kind of in the same place as you--I've reached my goal weight range with healthy eating but I haven't been working out enough so I'm essentially skinny fat. Lol. I'm not stressing it too much--the nice weather is coming which means I get a lot of exercise playing outside with the kids. I played kickball and badminton for 90 minutes with ds this morning while dd was at school and we are going on a bike ride in a little bit as soon as dd wakes from her nap.

  • It took 14 days but I successfully eliminated gluten and lost 4-6lbs (dang fluctuation!).

I started 30-Day Shred yesterday and continue to track all calories and fitness on Sparkpeople.com. I stay within 1200-1400 a day and I feel really great about that. I don't plan to weigh or measure again until I complete the 30-Day Shred. :)

    Way to go, everyone!!

I did day 1 of the 30DS today and ran 3 miles.  I plan to do the shred while I am waiting for my other workout to arrive.
  • I have been failing big time at losing weight.  I have been at this for about 6 weeks and lost about 5 lbs.  I think this week will be better since I'm sick and not wanting to eat much.  I am ready for spring so we can get out and walk again!  It is so hard to get motivated to lose the baby weight this time.

Is there a reason you eliminated gluten from your diet? I have been meaning to ask you that but keep forgetting.

Yes! Cancer and Diabetes run rampant in my family and the visceral fat deposits most often caused by gluten consumption make me incredibly high risk for both. I read several books and articles, including WheatBelly that really broke down how dangerous it is. It spikes your blood sugars as high or higher than eating straight sugar! And it has vicious addictive/ withdrawal symptoms. I lost 6lbs in the first 14 days all from my stomach! I documented my entire journey on my blog if you are at all interested in reading it. :)

  • I was stuck for a while, mostly due to getting tired and lazy and the late winter blahs. Then last week my mom took me clothes shopping for  my birthday and that kicked me back into weight loss mode. I bought the clothes a size down from what I should have because they're spring clothes and they will fit by the time I need them :). 16 lbs to goal weight!

My biggest worry and struggle is properly accounting for Drew weaning (which has been beyond slow going) and I'm worried my hormones may go out of whack when he weans but I'm hoping that with the return of nice weather I'll get back to running 4 times a week and generally being outside and walking a lot more (on nice days I walk 3+ miles round trip to pick the kids up from school).
