Do you mix and match?

If you have lots of "outfits" for LO, do you mix and match them or keep them together all the time? I really like to keep the same pieces together (with a couple of exceptions). I laid out clothes for the nanny and she just tried to mix together a bunch of different outfits from different sizes. I told her I don't like to mix them. Am I totally weird?

  • Mix and match but we do have 1 or 2 outfits that just match better as the original set.
  • I'm an outfit person as well. They just look so cute. But we have a lot of separates too and those I mix and match.
  • I only have some outfits that are really 'outfits' that go together specifically, like the Carter's outfits where there is a design on the butt and it coordinates with the top. Those I am kinda particular about them going together. But the rest of his outfits are mix n match by design, like I just bought a bunch of coordinating onesies and bottoms at Old Navy/Carter's with the intent that they would all go together.

  • I like to dress her in outfits but will also mix it up if everything works.  When i buy separates I usually steer towards solid colors pants/leggings so i have different options for more colorful, patterned onesies.

  • I generally mix and match, but like others, some outfits from Carter's just don't mix well.

  • I shoot for outfits, but if one part or another is in the wash, I don't sweat it.

  • I like to keep the pants/onesie together as a matching set. My husband happily mixes and matches.
  • Mix and match..but I have a boy so there's no "outfits" really...navy/gray/black pants with any onesie that will match lol that's pretty much it...

I too am a stickler for keeping the matching outfits together. DH, not so much.

    If you're weird so am I :)

Married my love 8-25-12 TTC #1 September 2012. BFP 2-2-13. DS born 10-16-13.
TTC #2 in December 2014. BFP 12-31-14. Expecting a September baby!
  • I'm a matcher. My DH who knows what my kids will be dressed like. I constantly send him back up with DS to change. If I don't leave out an outfit I'm screwed.

  • My OCD is twitching here... If it was sold together it gets folded together and never mixed and matched. We have about 50 shades of pink and none of them mix and match nicely, anyways.

  • My kid has an Old Navy onesie on, over a long-sleeve Carter's onsie -- with Children's Place jeans -- AND MISMATCHED SOCKS.

  • I don't mix and match the 3 piece outfits, but I do with the 2 piece.

  • The first few months I kept all her outfits together, then I started mixing and matching and it's been way more fun.  It keeps things different :-)

I'm really weird about this and always like to keep her outfits together.  I know exactly which pants go with exactly which top and if it gets a sweater/jacket or not.  I even match her socks to her outfits.  I'm totally anal but understand I'm weird.

It doesn't bother me when MH mixes and matches.  Ok, maybe a little.. but not to the point that I would say anything or change her.

Pretty much this, including the matching socks. It's starting to drive me a little batty that random pieces of outfits keep going missing somewhere between my house and my parents' and in-laws' houses. They think they're helping by washing clothes that got peed/pooped on during their watch but I end up with incomplete outfits and I'm too anal to just mix and match.

  • I only mix and match when it works. Most of the time I keep things together because we use a lot of different colors and they don't always look good together.

DH doesn't seem to care, though.

  • Your kids wear pants?
