Pregnant after 35

A little bummed (vent)

So I woke up at 3:30 this morning with cramping (like menstrual cramps), fell back to sleep and when I woke up at 6:30 they were still there. I got a shower and upon exiting I felt some fluid/discharge come out. I checked and made sure it wasn't urine. It wasn't but it also stopped. It happened again about an hour later (only a little bit of fluid/discharge when standing up then nothing). From 8 till 11 I was having contractions that never got closer than 15 mins apart and eventually subsided. I really thought with everything going on this morning today could be the day but apparently not :-( I was so bummed once everything stopped. For those of you on mobile who can't see my ticker I'm 39 weeks and 2 days. I really can't wait to deliver!

  • If that was a trickle of amniotic fluid are you not going to call you ob/midwife?  I hope you have a wonderful delivery!  I hope to be soon after

My doctor told me unless it is continuing regularly not to be too concerned. He advised me that amniotic fluid will normally continue to replenish itself. I've still been having good movement in there and haven't had any other leaking since yesterday morning. Believe me if I was worried about it I wouldn't hesitate to call my doctor.

  • Melissa72777 - I guess I didn't recognize that you had contacted your dr even though you believe fluid to be amnio not urine.. I understand about replinishing fluids being an ongoing thing.. I have never heard dr say to just hang out indefinitely after a rupture (even a minor one) especially someone 39 wks...Not worried about you just curious.  I hope all goes wonderfully
  • It sounds like things are starting to move in that direction. Vibes to you that it all goes smoothly!

  • It must be so difficult to relax or go to sleep after a day like that...Hope baby is going to be certain about things next time!

  • If it's any help. I had no symptoms of labor starting with DS1 and my water broke out of the blue. So symptoms or not you never know when it will happen.

OMG! It so was. When I thought I was having leakage I woke DH up immediately and had him get in the shower just in case. We were totally prepared to head to the hospital then everything stopped. Of course I was still thinking anything could happen so I was amped up all day. Between the nerves and my back pain that usually causes me trouble sleeping, I think I maybe slept 2 hours last night.

I agree! Such a supportive board, esp. happy that people on here show maturity.
