Baby girl name opinion...

I mentioned that we liked Eve Louise (with the nick name Evie Lou) to my mother and she said "ohh too much eeee sound". What do you think? Is there a better middle name for Eve? Or do you think Eve isn't great at all? We are looking for something classic but not very common. Loved Amelia, but getting way too popular.

Evie Louise is a cute nickname and I like Eve Louise, but Evie Lou sounds a little "Cindy Lou Who" to me. It's your baby though- choose what you like!

Eva (long e) or Eva (short e) would also be pretty and would break up the "eeee" sound a bit.

Haha, maybe I am a dork with the Evie Lou thing! How much do we use middle names anyway? Eva/Ava is too popular... although cute of course. I love my mom, but she drove me crazy with my DS too. His name is Pierce and she didn't like it and made me doubt my choice, but I'm glad we stuck to our guns on it. Ah, parents. :-)

I think this is one of the reasons we are not going to be telling family the name we chose until after birth. We gave a few ideas and family already has something to say about them! stick to what you want!

I thought the same thing at first. I think it is still a very pretty name though. I told one of my grandmothers the name we are pretty set on for our baby girl and the only response I got was

I think that if you guys like it, go for it! I'm also a big believer in not necessarily having to have a nickname. We are pretty much set on Charlotte Claire for our girl's name and just about every time I share the name, someone will say, "what would you call her?" Uh. Charlotte?

Personally, I like your name choice though I can see what people mean about the e sound. However, I delight in picking names that my mother doesn't love, so a comment like that would probably drive the deciding nail.

I personally love the way Eve Louise sounds. It's super cute. If your last name had a lot of "eee" sounds then maybe it would give me pause but I think this is an awesome name.

We are considering that our first name too. When my MIL asked me what names we had picked out (this was during a previous pregnancy that ended in a loss -- we've had the name for awhile) and I told her she made an "eww" face. I told her she'd better get use to it because that is her granddaughter's name. We then decided not to tell people our names. In my opinion, most multi syllable names go with Eve.

What if you named her Evelyn Louise and called her Eve? It might help flow of the name. If not... How many people will use her middle name anyway? So I wouldnt worry about it.

I think it's adorable. Go with your gut and what YOU like ...not anyone else! It's your daughter and your decision. This is exactly why we are not sharing our name (when we choose one!) My family started throwing out name ideas/suggestions at dinner the night we announced my pregnancy. While I love them dearly I'm not interested in their opinions. It's hard enough to name your child and it's true what they say, you can't please everyone

I figure once the baby is here they will be so in love and won't care what name we chose!

OMG my DH is a teacher and had a student named I'munique... no joke. Thanks for all of the feedback... whatever DH and I decide, we are going to stick to it and change the subject when these name suggestion conversations come up... :-)

I think it's adorable! my sister's name is Eve Marie and so maybe I'm used to all the E sounds

I think Eve is a cute name but if you want something that isn't super popular I probably wouldn't go with it because it's getting increasingly popular lately. As far as too many E's I don't think it sounds too bad.

I saw a baby on the park view name sign yesterday named. "Love Mae" hmmmm now that is questionable. You're name sounds great! I like Evie as a name alone! Or Evelyn. I like them all, won't be a final choice for us but I think Eve Louise is just fine. Unless is was like Eve Louise Green, then maybe to much eeeee but still it's your baby.
