I really wish we had more sick leave or a sick room at work. I was throwing up all night and i feel like crap but practically all of my "sick" time goes to DS. So here i sit. I at least wish we had a sick room with some couches so i could catch a 20 min nap, some toast, and just be for a minute.

    Oh no!

    How much do you get?  Can you use a vacation day? (which I know sucks- but if you are throwing up you probably shouldn't be at work!)

    We only get three days. I know I'm not contagious i am 95% sure I got food poison.

    I've already used a day and a half when DS was showing RSV symptoms b/c daycare wouldn't let him come.

    Ah- Ok that's different-- but I probably wouldn't be able to drag myself into work personally if I had the barfs.  Wow-- 3 days sucks!

    I haven't had food poisioning before (knock on wood) so does it just have to run its course or is there anything you can do to feel better?

    I haven't had it in a LONG time. I think it has to run it's course. I tried taking pepto last night but that really didn't work out. I am sticking to the BRAT diet today.

    This is crazy to me.  So, they would prefer that you show up sick and potentially infect the whole office???

    Basically. And we are not allowed to use vacation time b/c that has to be planned 2 days in advance.

    For a whole year?!  That's rough.  I'm thankful that we get tonnes of sick time plus I have separate time I can use if LO is sick or has appointments.  I know it's not the norm so I'm very grateful.

    That sucks!
    Feel better soon.
    And if you have to throw up, do it in the bathroom closest to your boss (or HR or whoever could change a sick leave policy :P )
