Au pair

Hello everybody, has anyone of the parents thought about getting in touch with an au-pair for taking care of the children? Would you trust a foreign au-pair? Thanks!

Re: Au pair

  • Possibly, if we had the money.

I'm not sure why I wouldn't trust a foreign au pair.  I would trust one if they were vetted by a service and a thorough background check was performed, just like hiring a nanny.

  • My old boss's children were raised by Au pairs. I have no idea how the interview process works, but it seems like it's not that different from a nanny.

-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
  • Out of our league but my boss used several au pairs when her son was little.  One of them who was with them the longest still comes to visit and they go visit her.  She said they absolutely become like family.
