Yearly IEP...

We got what we wanted and it wasn't really a fight, but some the supervisor made me squirm for a few. She isn't someone I have met before (area supervisor) and she led the "placement for next year" portion. She certainly led on that they were not going to agree to what DH and I wanted. Of course, my emotions got the best of me when it was my turn to explain why we wanted the placement we requested and I cried. I hate that, but once that happened, she immediately said that they agreed that our placement request was reasonable and the best for LA. I really wanted to smack her for making me worried. I KNOW they have to discuss all placement possibilities, but really. No need to do it the way she did. Of course my tears were in front of colleagues since LA attends my school, but thankfully, they are all sweet people. I hate IEP meetings.

  • They're the worst. I'm glad you guys got what you wanted, though.

  • I am glad to hear you got what you both wanted! It is sad when the school lets us down and makes us cry! I would have cried, too! We know are kids best and what they need.

  • IEP meetings can definitely wear you down. Ours is first thing tomorrow morning and I can't wait to have it behind me.
I'm so glad you were able to get the placement you were hoping for!
