We were recently matched with an EM due in July. There were a few difficult things going on in the weeks since being matched, but this past weekend (Friday) we went to meet her. Everything went so well and it gave us so much hope that we were matched with the right person. We got home yesterday and got a call from the attorney that the EM went into preterm labor yesterday and the baby didn't make it. We are so sad for her, the expectant dad, and for us. I always prepared myself for the fact that she might change her mind about us or choose to parent, but this is a whole different feeling of loss. I'm trying to remain positive that we are going to be parents, but after this and a failed match in December, I'm beginning to feel like our dream of having a family might not happen. Adoption is so hard....
After 1 IUI, 3 IVF's with CGH/CCS testing, 10 early miscarriages, and lots of tears and frustration, we are moving on to Domestic Infant Adoption! We are so excited to see what the future holds.
