Where do you bathe LO?

We used to bathe her in bathtub on counter in our kitchen but we just moved to our new home and now I'm wanting to bathe her in a little bath seat in an actual bathtub. We usually bathe her together (I could do it myself but I make DH help since I do almost everything else by myself). Just curious where everyone is bathing LOs now that they are 8-9 months and most can sit up by themselves now.

  • He gets a bath in the big tub. I have a nonslip mat. I also still use this little seat while I am actually washing him.

I find it makes it easier to get all the places clean that need to be. Then I usually sit him in the regular tub for a few minutes and let him splash and play.

We've always bathed her in her newborn/infant tub in our big bathtub.  I'd like to switch to just having her in the tub or inside of a laundry basket in the tub, but DH seems afraid to do it.  And he does 99.9% of all baths, so I let him decide.

pretty much this. Used to do the counter top, but she likes to splash!

  • In a laundry basket in the bathtub. We've been doing it for awhile. He likes to splash and move his toys around. I also make my husband help. It's a good bonding time. He needed a bath today, but we didn't have mych time. So, I handed him to DH in the shower to wash him off in there. He cried the whole time. I guess he's not a shower man.
  • DH takes a shower and holds him, baths him and I'll dry and clothes him.

  • Bath like a big girl! She's finally starting to enjoy it and crawls around the tub playing with toys. She's very stable now so I feel comfortable with it.

  • My LO still has a tendency to throw himself backwards. The laundry basket gives him something to fall back against if he decides to do that, instead of cracking his head on the tub.

We only used our infant tub twice then had him in the bath either alone or with me. Because he baths every night and it's a big bath, our water and electricity bills skyrocketed. We then got the ducky inflatable tub which he really hated at first but he got used to it and it uses about a quarter if the water. It'll give us a few months of saving water. He also showers with us occasionally and loves it.

  • Big girl bath. She was trying to climb out of the infant tub, so I decided it was time. Except now DH won't give her baths because he's afraid of drowning her... The one thing I could get him to do.
  • Ducky tub in the big bath tub
  • We use the baby tub which is large inside our tub.

Am i the only one who holds onto the baby the whole time? He is so squirmy. I'm reading about babies crawling etc. how do you manage this?
  • In her baby tub, in our bath tub. But the last few baths I haven't even bothered bringing it out. I plopped her right into our big tub. She's starting to crawl around and stand in her baby tub, I figured it's time to transition.

  • R is in the big tub almost always with his sister.  It's just easier to get them both done at the same time.  Needless to say, I'm usually soaked ;)

I think i like the laundry basket idea. Im assuming that its for safety reasons? Just in case he falls over or slips he will hit the basket and not the tub. Right?
We put him in a laundry basket and have since he started sitting. It gives him a little room to move, keeps his toys fairly contained so he is not reaching so far while sitting and gives him a little back support if he needs it-in case he falls.

We have also put the jets on in the tub on low and the laundry basket kind of softens them a little and he loves it!!!
  • In the kitchen sink.  But now that he's learned to splash i'd like to move to the big tub.  We don't have a special baby bath for him.
  • Bath tub. She wants to walk and crawl around and play. Last night, she gave me the sign that she needs swim lessons in that she put her face into the bath water and then looked up and smiled at me.

  • I've gotten really lazy lately and just take a shower with T or stick him in with DH. Much easier IMO
