3 hour GTT for the 2nd time.

Failed one of 3 last time so I'm having to take it again in the morning. I just need to vent to someone besides family about this.

Better safe than sorry but I don't know why they are making me take it again. I offered to just start the GD diet and they said not to jump the gun and take it again. Madness!!

    No fun! Sorry you have to go through it again. Not sure what was worse spending the 3-hrs at the doctors office or being poked 4 different times. Hoping that you pass this one so it wasn't for nothing! Good luck!!

    That's odd that they're making you take it again. My OB told me that you could fail one and still be considered a pass. I get my results today so FX I don't have the diabeetus.

    No fair! I only failed one and they called it a fail. :-( The lady that did the GD class said it was because it tends to get worse later in pregnancy, so if I failed one now I'd probably fail more than one in a few weeks.

    Well that scares me! I find out today if I failed or passed my 3 hour.. if they try making me do the 3 hour again im gonna cry and get all bitchy! :o

    This! My dietician and high risk doctor said the same thing. Even if you fail one by 1 point, it's still a fail which is what happened to me. Plus, I had lovely ladies with GD on this forum tell me the same thing. The diet isn't that bad at all, so I'd be pissed too if I had to retake the 3 hour. That just sucks!

    The 1 hour test sucked bad enough.  I cannot fathom having to do the 3 hour test twice.  I'm so sorry!
    IF DX: DOR & Fragile X pre-mutation carrier
    2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
    BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12
    Feb./March 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undectable) and AFC = 4;
    BFP from supps ~ DS#2 due May 2014

    The minute I failed the 1 hour I asked to go on the GD diet because I have a family history and they told me no, I was jumping the gun.

    About to drink that orange goodness again. Shoot me.

    Good luck on the results!

    I just was told I failed my 3 hour, now I got the diet and pricky stick but at least I dont have that terrible drink again. Im sorry you gotta deal with that again!

    Sorry you had to do it twice! I had my 3 hour this morning. The drink didn't bother me (it was the lemon lime one), I think the waiting around was the worst part for me.

    It probably has to do with getting insurance to cover the testing supplies. The first meter I got wasn't the brand preferred by my insurance and they were going to charge me $175 for the testing strips! (But the meter and lancets were covered, go figure). I had to switch brands and get a whole new meter to make my insurance company happy.

    In my case it has nothing to do with insurance.. Military! We are one of the busiest joint bases as well so I'm not sure why they want me to clog up their already swamped lab.
