The dreaded bed rest

Well I made it 31weeks 3 days on my own!! Got the call this afternoon to take my tush to the hospital & I'm officially on hospital bed rest. They are hoping to get me to 34 weeks, but they are awaiting the test results from my 24 hr urine collection....they want to rule out pre-clampsia.....I don't have any symptoms of it just swollen feet. So I've moved into the hospital and my hubby was all tears leaving me tonight. Very emotional. Looks like I'll be more of a tegu on the boards now lol!

Re: The dreaded bed rest

  • I just got put on BR today. I had funneling at my cervical check today, so my dr looked at me & said, "Bed rest except for hygeine." We knew it would come, but I was hoping I'd be in the 30 week range. Sorry you're stuck in the hospital :( It would be hard to leave my hubby & my little one behind, but it's the best thing for the babies. GL & let us know how it goes!

  • I did 4.5 weeks of bed rest in hospital, so I know what you are going through. Once you get through the 1st 3-4 days, routine sets in and it really becomes....OK....Just keep thinking about meeting those precious babies! I will be thinking about you!

  • That's great that you made it so far along! I've been on HBR for 7 weeks now and even though it can be scary at times it does get better. Sending positive vibes your way for you and those beautiful babies in hopes that they can stay in for a few more weeks!
  • Test results back. Mild pre-e and my platelets are low(102 they want 100 or more so border line). My contractions were every 2 minutes lasting a minute but eventually decreased to none within an hour. So they've got me on 12 hr bloodwork, 2 hr montioring of blood pressure and heart beats. And the dr said were on a wait and see what happens if I start to have labor contractions they are not going to stop them. So trying to stay calm.

  • Sorry you're stuck in the hospital.  I did 3.5 weeks on HBR before I delivered.  It was boring, but if I could have people waiting on me for that length of time now, I'd do it in a minute! ;)

    Good luck!!

  • I would NOT have survived 11 weeks of bed rest without The Bump. Seriously. So sorry to hear you are on HBR. Praying that all is well.

  • Hang In there. I hope that I don't have hbr. I've been on home bed rest for 3 weeks.
  • So sorry you're stuck in the hospital, positive thoughts for you and the little ones and hope the time flies for you.
  • I rested from 30 weeks on at home due to pre-e. One week they put me in the hospital but I got out. But I didn't have contractions so while it's boring you are probably in the safest place. Hang in there!
  • I wish you the very best stay! I had hardly any bedrest compared to some of these ladies, just over two weeks, and I just about lost my damn mind LOL

You are doing wonderful, 31w with trips already? Supermom! May your nurses be attentive and your tv have cable!

  • I've been wondering how you've been! I'm glad to see you're still cooking those babies. Great job! I'm sorry about the HBR, but hopefully it'll help get you a few more weeks of growth. You're doing a wonderful job. I'm sure it's very difficult to be away from your DH but it'll be worth it in the end. I'll be thinking about you!
