Let's talk about all the jobs we've had...or the most interesting...or the best...or the worst.
For me, I started out in my Church nursery watching kids when I was 14, before I was even legally allowed to work. Then once I had a car, I did after school care at a Church school. I worked at a surf shop also. I got a job at Build A Bear that lasted about 3 days because I got into a car accident and had no car. Then during my senior year, I had early release for work and PT co-taught at the same school for 2's and 3's. Then when I graduated, I taught summer school at that school for elementary age kids. Then at some point I nannied for a few families and taught 2's and 4's at a different school. I worked at a used car lot as the office manager, doing titles and stuff. This whole time, starting at 19 I started doing events and promos (handing out free samples and stuff). Then I worked at my exbf's (James) brothers airport parking biz as their corporate accounts manager. I worked at an upscale bridal boutique (loved it) and opened my own wedding and event planning business (also loved) and did that for a few years. In between I got a job as the tour manager for Choice Hotels on the LPGA tour. Moved to DC and nannied. Got married and moved to TX and nannied. Moved to NC and nannied then worked at a marketing company as a scheduling coordinator, staffing people for promos. I took this job to FL and worked from home for a bit while living with exbf (James) and then kept doing promos when that ended. Moved back to DC about two years ago, doing promos, managing tours, worked at World Market and got a job at a military non profit for a year. Oh and years ago I got a job at a law firm and quit after a few days. Hopefully not a sign of things to come since I'm majoring in Paralegal.
Best job hands down is the tour manager/brand ambassador stuff. The money is INSANE and it is so much fun. I've worked for every brand you can think of...Disney, Ragu, Nike, Adidas, Samsung, CereVe, Snickers, Coca Cola, Quaker, Mattel...the list goes on and on and on. I miss it so much and get offers to do it still all the time but can't with LO. I'm hoping when I go to FL I can book a few things and leave her with friends/family. The money would certainly help.
Worst job...I nannied for a family with two kids...one like two and one like 4 months. The parents were both home 24/7 (crazy annoying) and the mom worked nights as a doctor and slept during the day while the dad was a chef who basically did nothing. I had to make the lunches, bathe the kids, do laundry, clean dishes, take older one to school, pick him up, the whole thing. I can understand the mom not doing anything bc she was sleeping but the dad was a shitbag. I mean...did NOTHING. They'd stack up dishes in the sink and leave them for me to do. Once something fell out of the fridge in a massive mess and I KNOW he heard it but did nothing while I had both kids. It was just the end for me. I gave them some BS excuse and quit. I also nannied for another family with two kids who had a nanny cam and it was moveable so the dad would freaking move it and watch me at all times. They had rules that the baby could never be put down except to sleep and I had to engage the 2 year old constantly. My last straw, I sat on the kitchen floor where the camera could not see me and had a mental breakdown. I couldn't take it anymore and quit.

Re: JOBS
Throwing leaves
In high school I worked at a sneaker store (one of the managers let us take stuff home so I had a ton of awesome gear). They had a kids department too so that was fun. Also worked at a dry cleaners. I was there so long that i was the only high school kid I knew that got a weeks paid vacation.
In college I worked as a hostess, in the campus bookstore, at a vet (off and on for many years), as a bartender for a college bar (best job ever, dressed like a hot momma and made tons of money), oh and substitute teacher.
After college I spent over 7 years working in sales at one of the top banks in the country. I worked my way up to manager and the company relocated me a few times. I had a great apartment, drove a brand new BMW, took lavish vacations and made a lot of money. Worst job ever though. I hated it but was good at it.
After that I started in higher education working in admissions and now I am at a community college working with veterans. I love my job now but it doesn't make much money. I'm hoping they will give me a full time gig so I can support my kids after the divorce.
I think I need to change my screen name ps.
But i started baby sitting at 12, at 16 i worked as a file clerk, after high school i worked as a care giver then mcdonalds, then as a go go dancer
I did a lot of little jobs like little league concession stands, church nursery, mothers helper etc before I was legally allowed to work. I also assisted in baby ballet and tap classes during my middle school years, which was pretty awesome. I kinda miss that.
Worst job was at Cheddar's. I only lasted 2 weeks. Waiting tables is NMS. I was a cocktail waitress for awhile at a bar, and rocked that, but food is another story.
Second worst job was purchasing for a book distributor. They only gave 5 days for PTO/illness in the first year, and I was wayyy overworked for what I was paid. I was young, and just glad to have a "real" job (not a receptionist or something on the lowest rung of the ladder), and didn't realize my worth.
The best job is tied due to emotional/spiritual satisfacton vs. pay and benefits. I did inventory analysis/customer service for a book and magazine publisher that focused on organic farming. I LOVED THAT COMPANY SO MUCH. Not the greatest pay or benefits (honestly, I was barely scraping by), but I felt like I was working for the good guys, and it was amazing. My ex managed to screw that one up for me. The f*cker.
Then there's the job I have now. I've been having some issues with corporate lately, but the pay and benefits are better than some previous jobs. I'm still doing purchasing, but for a different industry. Way more "corporate", and I don't feel like I'm helping the world in any real capacity, so it's kind of soul-sucking.
My dream job would be something on the business side of a non-profit or a "good" for-profit company, with only part-time customer service type duties. It's just hard to find something that satisfies your soul and pays your bills at the same time.
