Any C-section moms? Rupture concerns.....

I am newly pregnant and will be having my 4th csection this November.  This will be our final baby.  I am having so many irrational worries re: rupture this time around...I never even thought about it w/ the previous pregnancies.  I am reading too much and saw that 50% of ruptures happen before labor has even begun :/ This is not reassuring.

    Have you talked to your OB about it?  Or your MW?  Or whatever you're using?

    I havne't talked to him yet...I plan on discussing it with him at my first official appt...I'm sure he will just try to reassure me of how rare it is, but there were 2 deaths at the hospital I delivered at Dec, which I'm sure had nothing to do w/ the hospital, it just has me thinking more of the potential things that could happen....

    I had these concerns and my midwife told me how very, very rare ruptures are. Yes they can happen... But it's very uncommon.

    Ruptures are very, very rare and much more common in a VBAC than as a complication of a c-section.

    I tried for a VBAC with my second. From my understanding after 1 section you have a less than 1% chance of rupture. It does go up slightly with every section, but it's still not very high. I didn't worry at all and I won't when/if we decide for a 3rd.

    My kids were 11 months apart and my doc still let me try for a vbac. He explained how very rarely a rupture happens.
    So while it's not impossible, it's not likely to happen either.
    Talk to your doctor, he or she may be able to give you some actual reassurance
