Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Looking for sleep issue suggestions

I have a 9 month old who until about 2 months ago slept through the night; however, recently she will not sleep through the night.  This really isn't too much of a problem as she goes back to sleep fairly easily.  The problem is she will only sleep on, next to me, or on my bed.  If I move her anywhere other then me or my bed she wakes up screaming.  I have tried to let her cry it out and this did not work.  She stood up and screamed until I got her.  Rubbing her back while she was in her crib met with screams as well.  I have laid next to her in her crib and still screaming.  Once I pick her up the screaming stops and she goes back to sleep.  So I'm hoping that someone may have a suggestion for me.  Thank you for any help you may be able to give.

  • Are you opposed to bedsharing? You can ask the AP board on safe bedsharing. DH usually doesn't like it, but bedsharing has gotten us through the worst of the regressions/teething. There's been no sleep training, and DS has gotten better. Still with a wake up most nights, but those molars are taking their sweet time coming in. Andhe'll go back down without too muchtrouble most nights too.

  • Are you ok with her in your bed?

  • I like having her in my bed, but it also worries me that it is not safe.  My ped does not like it and I guess that is most of the reason it worries me.
    Thank you for your replies.

Follow safe bedsharing precautions and it can be totally safe. The ladies on the AP board are very helpful with that.
  • Thank you I will talk with the AP board. :)
