Anyone else have an ear-tugger?

He was checked for an ear infection last week, so I know it's not that, but any time LO gets hungry or tired he pulls on his ears. The past week or two he has started to pull pretty hard. The skin at the top of his ear gets red. Any thoughts as to why he's doing it or how to get him to stop?

  • Ears and hair. She almost pulls the hair out. She does this as comfort when trying to sleep. It's better than what she did when she was a newborn. She used to look like she was going to pull her face off.

  • My DD has started to do it too. It's making me paranoid about possible ear infections.

I do, I do! She pulls her ear and her hair when tired. The last two days she's being putting her finger in her ear. If that continues threw the weekend I'll take her in on Monday to get those bad boys checked out.

  •  Scratches behind his ear and tugs hair when tired and hair just because.

We found out he had an ear infection at his 9 month and he had no temp, so don't assume they don't have one if no temp! He gave no signs of one what so ever but now that we are on an antibiotic, he covers his right ear

  • Yep, she tugs, scratches and pokes inside them all the time, especially when she's tired. She's a sleepy hair puller too.

  • B does that as a comfort thing. Sometimes he pulls, sometimes he rubs. I thought it was an ear infection too, and after I checked him out with the doctor, I mentioned something to my mom- apparently, me and 2 of my three brothers did that as well.

  • Yup, LO pulls his ears when he's tired.
  • L does sometimes when he's tired. Actually when I was a baby ear tugging was how my parents knew I was tired, sometimes I still catch myself doing it!
