So I'll start us off!  I've gained 10lbs or more through IVF#1 (and was already carrying an extra 10 - 15) I feel like I am in the worst shape of my life right now!  My BFN consolation prize was suppose to be to run a 30K race on March 30th - but do to the risk of OHSS - my Doc has said no running for another 2 weeks... booo

My goal is to start taking the weight off!  It's going to be tough while i can't do any intense exercise over the next 2 weeks - so I'm going to be focusing on my diet!  I've cleaned out the house of the junk and this weekend i'll make my meal plan and be ready for the week!!

If Monday's beta brings a BFN, hubs & I will be hitting the gym Monday night & hitting it hard until we know what happens for round 2... We already have pretty good eating habits, with the occasional treat now & then, we just need more activity. Plus, since starting this journey, I've given up dairy, sugar (mostly), and greatly decreased my caffeine intake. All the while upping water consumption... You'd think the pounds would just be falling off. Hahahah!!! Riiiiight....

So, I get the whole idea of the ticker & signature, but I can't do it from my tablet and when I try to do it on my laptop it says the body is empty. It says that too when I try to comment from the laptop. Any ideas on how to fix that? Lol. I'm pretty technologically impaired.

@princessPix I don't know about the siggy from the tablet but from the laptop - use the little grey man neat the top of your screen - then signature settings :)

I am up at least 28 lbs since December 2012- spent the time doing 3 IVF cycles and one FET. My goal though is to lose a little more than that- but ultimately to fit into my summer clothes- I don't want to buy new clothes. The goal is the day after my follow up with the RI who said I needed to lose weight. I hope I have something good to report. Down about 4lbs so far.
I have so much homework due Monday that I am not sure I can do the challenge completely. I will go back out and get my Perdue Simply Smart chicken breasts- breaded but only 8 carbs. Most of my meals revolve around them or some other form of frozen chicken. Trying to hit the gym a little more next week. I only went once this week- but I shoveled 7 inches of snow for 2 hours - so that counts, right?

I won't officially join in until after a negative beta. I also am not planning on stepping on a scale immediately--I don't want to know yet! I can tell by my pants that I have some work to do. :-/

Is it weird that I'm now excited about getting a bfn??

I've already started on the challenge of the week, but didn't even know it! I did the majority of the grocery shopping last night and have the meals planned for the week. I got a couple of different filk (fake milk) options for DH to try, since he's never actually had it before, so we'll see how that goes? (Funny story, I came home last night after work/drs appointment/shopping and he'd made himself dinner. Kraft Dinner. Because you know, there's no dairy in that? Or the milk and butter that he put in it either :))  Or that it's not even really food. He thought he was being good!)

I'd like to do a 30/30 challenge for my short-term goal. (30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days.) It's not necessarily going to be high-impact cardio or anything, but just getting out and doing something!

    I'm in!!

We will be doing DE/DS in late April.

Last year, I lost 14lbs. through dieting, lots of jogging, ect. After our loss, I managed to put 10lbs back on.

Honestly, I just did not care, at all. I stopped exercising, I ate whatever I wanted and basically hibernated all winter.

I really want to loose 5+lbs before our next transfer. I've been using My Fitness Pal to track my calories and I've gone out for 2 jogs this week.

I know I'll feel a lot better if I can get my weight down and look better in my spring clothes!!

    Me (32) DOR, elevated NK Cells/ 2 copies of MTHFR mutation/ MH (35) azoo/high DFI   (TTC#1 since 2009)

    IVFs#1-4: (4/10-2/12) all BFN

    Surprise Bfp (9/11) - c/p

    DS IUI#1-2 (9/12, 10/12) - BFN

    DS IVF: (11/12) - BFN

    DE/DS IVF#1: (10/13) - 2 day 3 embies transferred-BFFN

    FET of 2 day 6 blasts: (12/13) - c/p

    DE/DS IVF #2: (4/14) - 1 day 5 blast transferred...BFFN...again.

    FET 5/14: 1 day 5 hatching blast transferred...another BFFN

Repeat SHG 6/14-normal / Endometrial Receptivity Array biopsy 7/14-Receptive Uterus

New RE, additional testing reveals elevated NK Cells

FET of 1 day 5 blast (RE recommends transferring 1 due to elevated NK cells) with lovenox, steroids & intralipids in October

@tptbabe my favorite filk is coconut milk.  It can be used for lots of things but goes best in smoothies in my opinion:)
    This one is my favorite:
    Flax milk

For a while we had flax, almond, and coconut milk (note--not the canned kind!) in the house at all times. Fortunately, OH has now decided he likes the flax kind, too, so we only need to have one variety.

@ashis13 - I Looooooove my fitbit - I find myself running in place while watching my t.v. shows at night just to reach my 10K steps.  I look like a complete idiot and try to do it without anyone seeing me through the front window.  My DH just rolls his eyes.

@IFinTN - I tried this Paleo Crock Pot recipe the other day and it was delish.  I felt all cultured as well - since I had no clue what Bok Choy was.  It was only .99 cents for a huge bunch of it.  Score!

I am currently banned from exercising due to my recent ET, which sucks. I would love to do the treadmill.

I had lost a considerable amount of weight in the last several years, so it sucks to see the scales number climbing esp since I cannot exercise.

I have cut out sweets lately, so hoping that helps.

Technically, I have lost a few pounds the last few days, but I think my weight was artificially up because of the IV fluids.

Ok, first of all, I LOVE THIS CHECK-IN!! FUIF!!!

@penad5 - I feel you on the no running and letting races go because of BFNs... I will forever remember NYC Marathon 2013 as being doubly tainted by IF (IVF #1 = BFN, and giving up my spot because I wasn't in shape for a marathon after all that time off for an IVF cycle).

@HopefulSoul2 - I love the idea of a spin class!! I have to look around to see if I can find something around here...

@Ashris13 - tell me more about this FitBit! I have heard they're great, but don't know much about them.

@poohniki - congrats on being down 4lbs!! And shoveling snow DEFINITELY counts!! Especially the snow we've had recently. Heavy!!

@tptbabe - I love the idea of your 30/30 challenge... I might do something similar :) I use lots and lots of Kraft recipes. They're really not too bad for you, unless you have a dairy intolerance like your DH!! Haha, he should get an A for effort!! And I have to ask, I've always wondered what your screen name means. The band nerd in me always interprets it as "Trumpet Babe" because tpt is the abbreviation I use for trumpet in my scores, lol!

AFM: I'm so happy to have a group to work with on this very sensitive topic. I am a marathoner who has been on the sidelines ever since starting treatments last year... it has been enormously challenging on every level, especially emotionally. Giving up my pride and joy to pursue TTC with IVF has been defeating in every way. It is hard to get the motivation, and then have it all stripped away because of the various aspects of IF.

    My goals:
    1) Stay as active as possible throughout this marathon layoff. Perhaps I'll join tptbabe on the 30/30 challenge. If I can't run, I'll walk. If I can't walk, I'll crawl. If I can't crawl.... I'll eat chocolate. LOL
    2) Stay on top of my nutrition. Life without marathons is a slippery slope. I have been operating under the "Ah, fuck it" mentality. If I can't run, then who the hell cares about how I'm eating?! Not exactly healthy. I'm trying to get better. The meal planning and prep should definitely help with that!
    3) Stay on top of my emotional health. IF and IVF has definitely brought me to record lows... when I went to see a psychologist after IVF #1, he diagnosed me with severe depression... it was such an eye opener. I didn't realize that I let myself get that bad. I'm still in therapy (though with a different therapist now who is a better fit), and try to take care of myself emotionally through all of this.

COTW: I'm so glad that meal planning & prep is the challenge of the week!! I was gonna be lazy and wing it, but now that I see this here, I have to do it!! I'm going to make a grocery list so that DH & I can go shopping later. I'm going to use my birthday as an excuse to get him to help me with the meal prep, muahahahaha!!! Have a great week, ladies!! And GO TEAM FUIF!!!!!

    1) Stay as active as possible throughout this marathon layoff. Perhaps I'll join tptbabe on the 30/30 challenge. If I can't run, I'll walk. If I can't walk, I'll crawl. If I can't crawl.... I'll eat chocolate. LOL

OMG I LOL'd at this!  Love it... I might have to take on this philosophy too

    PS... Happy Birthday!

Thanks Ladies :) It's hard to stick to a healthy meal plan with all these birthday treats everywhere. Oh well, it only comes but once a year!

Also, this is a badge that I designed with a few fellow 3Ters when we ran a color run race together in September (which was SO MUCH FUN!!!). Maybe we can make use of it here?

@tptbabe my favorite filk is coconut milk.  It can be used for lots of things but goes best in smoothies in my opinion:)
    This one is my favorite:
    Flax milk

For a while we had flax, almond, and coconut milk (note--not the canned kind!) in the house at all times. Fortunately, OH has now decided he likes the flax kind, too, so we only need to have one variety.

Thanks! So far he likes the almond one the best (over the coconut one even), but we haven't tried flax. (I'll look at the health food store, since the grocery didn't have it.) I've been thinking about trying to do smoothies in the morning. I take my thyroid meds as soon as I get up, but because I have to leave so early in the morning (and I am NOT a morning person) I don't usually have time to eat anything until after I get to work. Maybe I'll try a smoothie to take with me in the car?

And I have to ask, I've always wondered what your screen name means. The band nerd in me always interprets it as "Trumpet Babe" because tpt is the abbreviation I use for trumpet in my scores, lol!

It's 100% Trumpet Babe :D I took jazz performance in school, and when I joined TK after getting engaged (back in 2002), I was still in college. I still play quite a bit, but I didn't end up making a career of it. I'm honestly happier this way, since I get to do it for fun, instead of *just* for money! (The stress of that kind of career just wasn't for me.) What do you play, if you don't mind my asking?

How cool!! I started out on violin in the 3rd grade and switched around a bit (flute in 4th grade, and then finally landed on the oboe in 7th grade). I majored in music in college & grad school (music ed with a minor in oboe performance), and am still into the music scene. I'm a music teacher (elementary band), and also play my oboe with a semi-professional group in the area. I'm more of a classical player, though I do teach 5th & 6th grade jazz band. It's actually one of my favorite parts of the week! That's great that you still find time to play for fun. Do you play in any ensembles?

That's awesome @RunCC37!!! (I played bassoon for a time in highschool when I got bored of the level of playing. Double-reeds for the win!) I do play with a couple of ensembles (brass and marching band), but really I'd love to start my own funk band :x

Uggg yesterday was a tough day!!!

I went to buy a bike/tri jersey and I couldn't fit in the biggest size they had... I mean those things fit very small... but come on!!!  I feel so fat :(

It was soooo hard to not stop at the store and buy ice cream... but I didn't I just made pudding instead - it was the full fat kind as I gave up aspartame... but still better than ice cream.  I also walked uphill on the treadmill for an hour... made me feel better

How do you get past those "I feel fat" days?

@penad5, I'm sorry you had a bad day yesterday & hope today is better. I definitely have my days when I feel so disgusted by how I look and feel. The way I get through it is to remind myself that I'm doing the best I can. Once I get past this, and back to marathon training, I know that I'll feel a lot better. This is only temporary!

All right, ladies! I officially got AF, so I'm in like Flynn! I even got on the treadmill and ran for half an hour DURING AF!!!!! That may be a first. It wasn't a fast run, mind you, but we gotta warm up somehow.

My plan: I'm going to reintroduce myself to exercise until Sunday or Monday (haven't decided), then I'm going to more-or-less follow the week long detox and  boot camp plan that I saw in a magazine (just finished typing out the recipes in case anyone wants them). I'll reassess after that about my goals and weight. Frankly I'm not going anywhere near the scale until after the detox!

I think maybe I missed it--what's happening in 3 weeks and 3 days?

@penad5 - put on the baggy jeans and eat a lot of fiber. :D Sometime I'll have a skinny day immediately after a fat day! I want to be part of the cool kids, but not sure if that ticker applies to me, too!

    FU IF!!!! Rah rah rah!!

I avoided shoveling... DH did shovel once in the afternoon but another half a foot at least fell after that. Normally he keeps the driveway clear  - but i think he's given up... temps are suppose to go above freezing tomorrow so we're taking the chance that it will just melt the driveway snow lol

No snow here on the east coast, but I am almost to my weekly goal! I miscounted and am 10 minutes short (I'm doing a modified version of the 30/30 challenge... rather than 30 minutes a day, I'm doing 210 minutes a week. It's the same amount of minutes, but gives me the flexibility to do more one day, and less another). But no worries, I plan to make it up in the morning before work. If I do it before the check in gets posted, it totally counts ;)

Can't wait to hear everyone's progress!! It's been so fun seeing everyone's tickers!

This is what DH told me when I told him that I was shovelling the driveway! He was hoping that the warmer temps would melt it all, but no such luck :( Still freezing my butt off over here! My 30/30 progress has definitely not been so much of a "workout" this week, as a shovelling and trying to get out of parking lots alive kind of thing!
