Blooming Bath? Read this.

I hate flame retardants, with a passion. Everyone who knows me knows this! Research has shown how harmful they are to developing bodies, causing neurological and hormonal disorders. Well, come to find the Blooming Bath that I purchased contains flame retardants! When I called up to ask, the woman, sounding quite guilty, told me that the cute little flower bath DOES contain these chemicals. Great. So I gave my baby essentially a chemical bath, twice. Doesn't common sense say that warm water + chemical laden foam + baby cannot possibly be good?! Needless to say, I immediately threw that toxic piece of garbage away and purchased a non-toxic bath from a trusted company, Boon. Ugh. I hate deceitful companies. And they way they market the product would have you believe it is a safe way to bathe your baby.

Thanks for posting - I'm a first time mom and concerned about chemicals. Id never thought about this in the tub! (Have only been careful w bottles, cups or teethers) Really appreciate the info!

I doubt you gave your baby a "chemical bath".

And doesn't common sense also tell you that a colorful foam in the shape of a flower and meant for a bath tell you that there are probably some kind of chemicals in it?

My main concern with this bath is it looks like it would stay damp for awhile and be a bacteria breeding grounds.
